Summary: If you want a good Ace Combat game get AC Zero : The Belkan War for PS2. 1000 times better. You couldn't pay me to play Assault Horizon. The people who made it should be ashamed and embarrassed.
Pros: Absolutely None
Cons: I'm enraged that Bandai Namco would make a game this bad and call it Ace Combat. This game is a complete step backwards from previous Ace Combat. I loved Ace Combat Zero for PS2, 1000 times better than this steaming pile. I literally tore the manual into shreds after 1 hour of playing. There isn't a single good thing about it. Gameplay, graphics, story, everything is terrible. When you get locked on to an aircraft the game makes you enter a extremely childish and idio...
Summary: Picked this game up after it had been out for some time and the price came down. Love playing flight sims, never had a PS2 so never got into AC as a whole, but Air Force Delta + Storm and AC 6, HAWX, and everything else I could get my hands on I played. Popped ACAH into my console, and went smooth enough from teh start. Then, the first I'm placed into a fighter I make a terrible discover: Enemies (leads) have an infinite amount of flares.
Summary: Well i have played this game for a few hrs now, And I'm just gonna be blunt, all the blackhawk gunner missions, and Ac-130 missions not necassary. The so called new Dog Fight Mode, HAHAHA Makes me laugh.... Doesn't feel like a Dog Fight at all. Basically all your doing is flying around in a circle trying to get a target plain in front of you so you can enter into DFM and shoot him down.
Summary: Previous Ace Combat games were hardly flight simulators, but they had a certain amount of simulation elements, freedom to fly, somewhat realistic flying physics. In addition they had crazy stories and massive bosses/set pieces which brought a smile to your face and broke up the monotony. The credit system for acquiring new aircraft or weapons also gave a reason to play on.
Summary: Like other reviewers here, I also am a huge fan of the ACE combat series. I have been playing this it was first introduced and loved every game. Until now, this game is nothing like the previous versions. The game play is simply awful and tedious. They introced Dog Fight Mode (DFM) in this version. It is absurd at best. Dogfighting and ground strikes in previous versions were exciting and often tense.
Summary: well....well...well... what can i say after playing this game. i have so much expectation on this game ACE COMBAT: ASSAULT HORIZON.been waiting for it now i have it but this one they just drop the ball not a good game. pretty much your just sitting in a back seat on a taxi cab. it wasn't like the other ACE COMBAT i played it before. how i wish i could have my PS2 back this one is boring and just like the HAWX2 GAME.
Summary: Not like the old Ace Combat, this game is very disappointing. The levels range from just mindless flying around using no skills to dizzying flying where it is impossible to fly and shoot. Had this game for a few days hope I can return it.
Summary: I enjoy games that you can fly. Simulators are the best but, not for everyone. I find that this flying game is one of the worst flying games that I've played. There are great parts to this game and those parts are what kept me playing as much as I did. Flying the Jets in this game takes nothing more then pushing the buttons in order and when told to push them. No strategy needed on the players part. They didn't do a very good job on this one... save your money.
