Sturdy, well made: practical

  • Excerpt: Never go cheap with professional gear. I tried a knock off and instantly regretted it. Fortunately, I did a few supported tests on my tripod. When I pointed the camera up toward the ceiling, the latch would give out. If not supported, the camera would have crashed to the ground.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Professional Quality

standard adapter but...

  • Excerpt: There are different size screws in camera mounting plates that usually are attached to this one. When using long mounting plate screws be careful because they can interfere with the release mechanism in this adapter so the lever gets stuck and you can not release the camera.
  • Pros: Solid/Sturdy
  • Cons: Limited screw range, Poor Design

A little bit sloppy but still very handy

C. Kovatch, B&H Photo
6 July 2011
  • Excerpt: I really like being able to go from tripod to Steadicam and vise versa so this unit is handy. However, there is a little bit of play when using a smaller camera like an EX1. Front to back is very solid, it's the side to side that was some play.
  • Cons: Weak Clamp
