  • Excerpt: fits several of the later model (1990's) Pentax AF film SLR cameras. The Pentax Forums Camera Reviews for Pentax AF film SLRs can tell you if this battery grip fits your specific SLR. I own 3 of these grips and have used them on a ZX-L, ZX-7, ZX-30 & MZ-50.
  • Pros: Runs SLR on 4 AA batteries; Extends camera grip; Light weight;
  • Cons: Sometimes tricky to insert; Doesn't balance well when sitting; No vertical shutter release button like newer digital grips;

  • Excerpt: I bought this for my ZX-5n I acquired in October. It does what it advertises, which is adding battery capacity and nothing else. 4 AA's over 2 CR2's is much more economical. I am rocking Duracell rechargeable batteries, which I think are not recommended (I have not seen any adverse effects...). The battery door feels strong, especially compared to the one on the camera itself. Mine came new in box for only $15. They can go down to about $10.
  • Pros: Uses AA, Adds heft
  • Cons: Disrupts camera balance, battery door a tad flimsy
