  • Pros: Accurate, Comfortable, Water Resistant

  • Excerpt: This product was ideal for using at the gym. the chest strap heart monitor connected automatically to the treadmill which was perfect for my needs. The exercise feature of the watch does exactly what it says on the tin and all the features were easy to use. As watch alone however, this product is very basic and does not have many of the features that you would normally expect from a watch.

  • Excerpt: I have only used this for 5 training sessions up to now and although it does integrate with the gym equipment it does say in the product details "No chest belt required". this is not the case, had I known this I would have looked for an alternative product, some are available cheaper with the same limited functions. It is also slow to react to function button presses, am I expecting too much or is the battery low? I have nothing to compare it with.

  • Excerpt: good value, will take a bit of getting used to, but it does give you a number to associate with your level of exercise, so you can see where you have scope for some extra effort. Only thing it does not have is a daily alarm but to be fair I guess I could use my phone for that. The cheaper watches seem to suffer from poor reviews regarding accuracy but this entry level polar is accurate most of the time.

  • Excerpt: Good product and reliable as all Polar watches are. Disappointed there is no watch light. Other than that, all good for an entry level monitor.

Good monitor for newbies

  • Summary: There are a lot of very high tec and complicated products on the market aimed at heart rate training - as someone new to it, I wanted something simple to set up and easy to use. This does the job. The instructions are clear, and the watch and belt are comfortable. I also discovered that the monitor works with the running machine in the gym which was a bonus. This product monitors my heart rate while I'm running, and provides basic stats available until the next run.
