Summary: Had a problem with a short in the 3.5mm connecting cord (which is a joint USB charging cord and 3.5mm sound cord that is not easy to get). Had no response from manufacturer in Singapore and the US vendor seems to have no telephone access to contact them. Amazon came to my rescue and solved my problem. I can highly recommend doing business through Amazon - without their help I would been out in the cold.
Only good when you use output from a stronger amplified radio or audio signal

Summary: The sound of the small portable speaker is always going to be limited by its size. However, some portable mini speakers are far better functionally than the X-Mini new generation speaker. The sound coming from this speaker is very dependent on the input device. For example, the Sony ICF 1000 is a very small pocket radio and it does not put out enough amplification for this X- Mini speaker to function. All you get is static. Consider why you are buying a mini speaker.
Summary: 1) Product arrived at my door on time. 2) I opened the box. It's a cool looking little speaker. 3) I read the instructions and plugged in my MP3 player. 4) The sound of a rabid cat violently convulsing in a litter box started emanating from the tiny capsule. (It was also jumping around like a Mexican jumping bean) 5) Put product back in the box and sent it back. 6) I then paid a little more for a quality Altec Lansing IM4 Portable Audio System.
Summary: Very disappointed. I bought a previous model because on Amazon reviews, and it stopped working. I bought this "updated" model thinking it would be better, but it would not hold a charge. It did not produce any sound, either. Huge disappointment.
Bad Choice for a couple of MiniSpeakers LASTED THREE DAY - but great sound
6 June 2011
Summary: First of all, I've just bought a couple of this capsules. They worked fine for 72hours. Then the problem began. The sound stops, then i needed to push the membrane in order to get dirty sounds and so on... Deeply Sad The sound is very impressive for something this size and price, I'm going to buy an X-mini II and try to hook the two up for checking best sound. The Lid is totally useless, and the aux cord is kind short.
Summary: Darn shame this speaker lasted ONE DAY before it crapped out. I had it hooked up to a COBY video player. After one day the sound would stop like there was a short in the speaker. I could tap it on the top and hear crackling from the speakers. I threw it away and purchased another brand to try. Hopefully i'll have better luck this time.
