Summary: Completely changed experience of watching films etc on laptop. Use it every day. I bought a stereo set as well, but I carry my laptop up & down from kitchen to living room to studio & bedroom, with this lil guy hanging off the side ;-> The built-in volume control works, but it's much more practical for me to control sound from my keyboard.
Summary: This mini-speaker has good sound and is very compact. It picks up local stations with good sound but the antenna must be weak because the pickup range is minimal and it won't pick up stations in Spokane (70 miles away) that I pick up with my car radio with ease. I wish it had a few favorite stations buttons as you have to scroll through the frequencies one click at a time.
Summary: The speaker/radio set has a lot of things to like about it. It is super compact. It is light weight. It collapse into practically the size of a yoyo. The sound is good with excellent clarity. The low end of the spectrum is very deficient. It is a very small unit so expectation of bass sound perhaps is not realistic. There isn't much bass but the clarity of the high-end and mid-range is impressive. The radio is only FM. The sensitivity is ok but not great.
Summary: I first heard of X-mini from an article refering to the founder's difficulty with fighting cheap knock-offs of his product. Intrigued by what sounded like a well engineered item, which would augment my camera and iPod, I decided for the price I could afford to gamble. I was a little skeptical of the X-mini Rave sound quality as small packages often sound like a tin speaker in a cracker box. Not what I expected. It was so much better.
