Summary: very cheap. Many pieces fell off 1 month after use. The sound is pretty decent for the price but don't expect for the shell and it's pieces to hold up very long. The metal part fell off on both of them.
Summary: I ordered these from Amazon but had to return them. One rattled at certain octave bands, which I can see is just a defect. However, they do not sound that great in general. The red rubber coating was very cheap and would rub off in no time it seems. So don't pay extra for white, as it won't last long. I will look elsewhere for USB speakers. Not worth it.
Summary: It is a nice portable speaker but the volume control wire got a loose connection in a few days and I returned it. The sound quality is good for cheap portable speakers. Makes movie audio and voices much better than native laptop speakers. I had the x-mini single speaker before I got this and it does almost the exact same thing, in a smaller package and cheaper price. The price increase too this model is not justified in my mind.
Summary: The sound was good ... until one of the speakers died. Now I just use the single speaker which is still way better than my cell phone speaker, but it's always disappointing to pay for a product that doesn't last.
Summary: I bought this a few months back, and just opened it. Plugged it in to the USB port to charge it. After 5 hours, one speaker's indicator light turned blue (meaning it's charged), whereas the 2nd speaker was still red. I left it connected overnight, but it didn't change to blue at all. I unplugged the USB cable and turned on the speaker, but it didn't work. So I conclude this speaker's battery is dead! It will only work when connected to the USB power.
Summary: I got these to see if they are good laptop speakers replacement. I'm no audio expert, but my BXR1220 sounded much better. So does my TDK Sp-XA10 speakers from Amazon Japan that weighs 165 grams. Voices in songs sound muffled (like in built-in laptop speakers) in the X-mini MAX II while it's crystal clear in the BXR1220. The "bass" sounds like ringing garbled noises that pretty much annoy me, and that's only at low volume.
