Sony CPF-IX001 - Works great when set-up correctly.

Summary: Some of the reviews have been unduly harsh about this unit. It is no harder than most other networked audio streamers to set-up - I know, I've had some of them! The sound quality for such a small unit is excellent (helped by the sub-woofer in the base/power supply unit).
Summary: If you wanted to use this as an DLNA box, believe the other reviews that tell you that it just won't work. Sony's early attempt at a box that if they supported it with firmware updates would be perfect. Stupid lazy Sony.
Summary: Although sceptical prior to the purchase I read other reviews left on the website and decided to go ahead with buying the speakers. The standard set it is very easy; power cable into speakers which passes through the bass system, battery on the remote, dock you WM PORT player and away you go!
Summary: I got this as a bargain bundled with the NW-A808 mp3 player. Very happy with the mp3 player but desperately frustrated with the speaker system When used simply as a dock for the mp3 player the sound is terrific. However don't beleive the hype about it's wi-fi capabilities.
Summary: I've had one of these for a year and a bit now and, even though it does have some bad points, I still think its an awesome piece of kit - especially for the size of it. The worst points mostly concern the initial set up to get it talking to your WiFi - I struggled for ages to get it to work.
Summary: Unlike other reviewers I paid for this and it is worth every penny!! The wireless was easy to set up, no waiting at all! My router is upstairs at the front of the house and the unit is downstairs at the rear of the house so they are about as far away from each other as they can get and the reception...
Summary: There are two words that describe this device. Tedious and frustrating. I've had one for about six months and I'm simply not impressed at all. It all started during the initial instalation, which was difficult because of the bad instructions that come with the unit.
Summary: Both this and the cpf-nw001 now discontinued so some bargains to be had. I just got mine from John Lewis online for £49! Not too bothered about the wi-fi side so just using to playback from my walkman. The sound is just FABULOUS.
Summary: The sound on this is surprisingly good, both in stereo and in surround sound. Just plug your MP3 player in -- either via the Sony-oriented plug sticking out at the front or via the stereo jack at the back -- and you're off.
