Don't buy this for the WiFi connection, it is not dependable.

Summary: This was advertised as the best solution for a higher fidelity wireless solution when using the Apple 'airplay' protocol. I found it wasn't so great because it would intermittently drop the connection between the Apple products broadcasting that protocol. Proximity didn't matter, device (iPhone-iPad-MacBook etc) didn't matter. The results were always the same and always disappointing.
Summary: The sound quality is a little too muddy and I lose connectivity all the time. I bought a Sonos Play 5 instead, which is 4 times the price, but at least I can actually use that consistently versus having this as an expensive paperweight. I am sure if I plug my phone into it directly using a headphone jack, it'd be better than listening through Airplay.
Summary: I'm a computer weenie and tend to adopt new technologies. I was looking for a speaker that would work with my smart phone over either blue tooth or wi-fi. This did neither easily. In the end, I had to give up - never did get it working well. It was too hard to set up.
Summary: Any song heavy on the bass will sound Terrible! For the money there are other speakers that are 10 times better in quality of sound. I regret purchasing this item. Even with the 50% discount I got these speakers were too expensive.
Summary: I hear Pioneer has replaced (or eliminated) this model. Too bad. I use mine wirelessly with an Apple laptop and it works great. If I'm just looking for background music anywhere in the house, this model works well. Sound is a little muddy but we're talking background music here, not high end pristine stereo.
I don't know why there is negative review for this product

Summary: This excellent unit of wireless (except power code) and it supports latest technology like dlna and airplay. Easy to to setup if you have some very basic knowledge about your wifi router. Also it supports direct wifi that is we can say it is truly a future proof device. Direct wifi will replace bluetooth technology very soon or so.
Summary: When you connect the speaker thru USB, this baby works really good and easy. Charges my iPhone 5s no problem and I control thru my phone. Sound is good, if you like some bass. Setting up thru the Wifi. The setup map guide that comes with is so complicated. The user interface on the browser is par none to horrible. *(Should be updated to a more user friendly[hint Pioneer]. The speaker sometimes drops connectivity when is thru Airplay. This is my first airplay speaker.
Summary: I LOVE THIS SPEAKER EXCEPT FOR ONE THING. THIS IS VERY HARD TO SYNC WITH MY IPHONE5. I HAVE FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTION AND IT STILL WON'T WORK. OTHER THAN THAT, IT WORKS GREAT OFF A CORD. I'M GOING TO CALL PIONEER TO HELP SET IT UP.THE SOUND IS INCREDIBLE! EXCELLENT BASS AND HIGHS. VERY COMPACT. WOULD HAVE BEEN 5 STARS EXCEPT FOR SET-UP.
Summary: It took a Sunday afternoon to get this setup right, but now it works anytime, as expected. You can run it from iTunes on your computer, the Remote app on your ipad or iPhone, or via Pioneer's ControlApp. The ControlApp has it's own controls for Pandora, Spotify, and internet radio giving you lots of choices.
