Summary: I bought this XW-SMA3 about 2 weeks ago here at Amazon. So excited I ordered for overnight. Got it the next day and when I checked out the manual, could not believe this flow-chart. Watched UTube on the unit and this guy has it working in 2 minutes. Don't you believe it. I followed manual and re-watched Utubes for a week. I was on my network alright, however could not hear a thing. I gave up Saturday and set up time for my local Geek Squad to help the next Weds.
Summary: I have both the A3 and A1, got them for unbelievable prices ($39.99 and $79.99) via Best Buy's deal of the day around Christmas time. My 5 star rating takes the price paid into consideration. For $80, the A3 is an unbelievable value. Sound quality is good. Neither unit sounds as good as my Bose Sounddock, but that was considerably more expensive. Even if I paid $200 for the A3, it would be well worth it. The highs are decent and mids are well defined.
Summary: This speaker is incredible. The sound is excellent, the features are amazing. I use it with AirPlay from my iPhone 5S and it couldn't be easier to use. I trained the family to use it in a minute with AirPlay. The Pioneer ControlApp is a really cool app that let's you play from Pandora, Spotify and vTuner. I had never used vTuner before and now enjoy listening to worldwide radio stations with a couple button presses.
Summary: I bought four A1's and two A3's from newegg. Setup was a breeze, had all four flashed and connected in less than an hour. The key here is to read through the instructions a few times first. Switching speakers on the ControlApp is a bit cumbersome, but just having that ability is awesome. Whole house audio for under $500. I use android and pc's with no issues. Love the built in rechargeable battery.
Good speaker, tons of great technology with very flexible implementation!

Summary: The very long review from PIEC2 pretty much says it all. I paid $100 for this at Best Buy the day after Christmas. Received the well regarded Creative D100 for Christmas but couldn't deal with the low bluetooth sound quality. Next to my Bose SoundDock the A3 doesn't quite have the full sound but with the right EQ you can get pretty close. The one complaint which I'm overlooking due to the great value prop is that the interface is not intuitive.
Looks Good and is highly portable. Download the App!

Summary: The device was easier than I thought to set up. The airplay works great. Really happy with the battery to take it outside. As some reviewers have pointed out the sound quality is not the best. I'm not an audiophile and I notice a little more muffled sound than I would like. If you are an audiophile you may give the device a lower grade. For me the sound quality is not an issue but the only reason I held it back from 5 stars. The Sound quality is adequate.
Summary: In the process of building a house and after extensive research we decided on these. Now of course coverage is not quite as even as in ceiling speakers but far more versatile and a good trade as far as I'm concerned, this is taking into consideration that this little box sounds far better than an in ceiling speaker anyhow especially with the bass response and clarity. I have toying with these now and love them and so does the wife.
Summary: I have had several BlueTooth Portable speakers, including two versions of the BOSE, and i won't go back. AirPlay beats them hands down for audio quality. I have both the A4 and A3 Bose speakers set up around my hose and use the A3 in the yard for parties. They sync up well and sound great. The A3 does not have the BASE of the A4, which may be good for some as the A4 tends to be a little Base heavy and needs some adjustment of your EQ settings.
