meckie, Amazon

  • Summary: but hey for the price a very good deal. i would give them 5 stars if the bass were better. I like the loudness because i need to be away from the computer doing things while i listen. And you CAN make them quiet unlike what others have said.

  • Summary: I opened this box and instantly hated myself for not looking at the dimensions of these speakers prior to buying them. Since Ive never heard a GOOD and inexpensive pair small speakers in 23 years as an audio engineer, I pretty much assumed Id be sending these back. They are light but feel decently tough and they come with a good quality usb cable and interconnecting speaker cable (All pre molded and connected) so I snapped them to my iMac to try them out. Well SURPRISE!

Threw Out SONY VAIO Speakers

RDS "Transplanted Texans", Amazon
21 February 2014
  • Summary: USB Only. No AC power adapter. Using AC powered 4 port USB hub. Each speaker roughly 6.5 inches tall by 3 inches wide. Extremely impressive sound. Roughly 30 inch fixed cable separates the two speakers. Easily spans a 24 inch monitor. Surprisingly fine sound. With Windows Professional 7 volume on new laptop set at 3% every lyric and nuance is clear as a bell. Substantial weight and solid construction. Nuff said.

  • Summary: I use these in a school classroom with my projector/computer. Volume is fantastic for the price.... even used them for an assembly in the cafeteria for the whole school and they were loud enough. Great speakers for a decent price.

Great USB speakers

HJ, Amazon
15 December 2013
  • Summary: I am sick and tired of every computer peripheral requiring it's own power plugin. I bought these speakers specifically because they are USB powered. I think they are fantastic speakers. They were easy to setup, and have a good sound. They aren't going to fill your house with the sound of music, that isn't what these are. But, they will be great for doing work at your desk, watching the news, watching videos, playing games, etc.

  • Summary: These install easily and work great! My laptop played music loud enough for what I used it for but when streaming shows I could hardly hear a thing. With these I can hear perfectly now! So glad I bought them.

Volume hard to adjust to a moderate level.

Lana Peters, Amazon

  • Summary: Volume control is very tricky. The volume is overly loud and we keep ours at a 1 or 2. They tip over easily. But for small speakers in this price range they do the job on our home computer.

Good deal

Andrew A. Degen "outof nothing", Amazon

  • Summary: I am a professional composer and music studio owner. I bought these speakers merely to see how my mixes sounded on a basic consumer audio medium. Make no mistake, these speakers do not come anywhere near aural reproduction on near field monitors or high-end ported cabinet units, but, as long as you don't expect to crank them way up (they understandably distort) and are satisfied with lossy audio mediums like MP3, their definition, imaging and frequency fidelity was...

Very loud for their small size

J. Hobbs, Amazon
19 September 2013
  • Summary: Yes these speakers are very loud for their size but things go downhill from there. I bought these speakers to replace a small Logitech Z205 Portable Computer Speaker that I donated to my wife to take with her when she travels. Trust me she got the better deal. The volume on the Pioneer speakers is nearly impossible to set. It is either too loud or too soft. There is little in between.
