Summary: I originally purchased a pair of the Bose Companion 2 speakers for my computer. After about about a half hour of listening I wasn't happy with the sound quality. The bass was horrible. I returned them and got the Phillips 2.1 system. I have had them for over 5 years now and have used them for my pc and tv surround sound needs. They are still as crystal clear as the day they were purchased.
Summary: There was no manual or even a quick start guide included with our speakers. I'm totally ignorant about hooking stuff like this up but my son finally figured it out, (we had to buy a split RCA cord). Sounds pretty good, much better than our Samsung LCD speakers. But we haven't the foggiest on how to control the speakers with our remote because not only was there no manual, but Phillips has no manual available for downloading!
Summary: Our TV-watching room has a high ceiling but is on the small side square-footage-wise, and frankly, it wasn't worth it to me to invest in an expensive home theater system - the room's design is nice as it is and we didn't want to clunk it up any further. That's why this Philips setup works so well, especially at a good sale price. The sound is excellent, considering the price. The booming bass can be adjusted, thankfully.
Summary: I BOUGHT THESE FOR MY DAUGHTERS ROOM, I DIDNT THINK THEY WOULD WORK AS WELL AS THEY DO. EVEN THOUGH WE ONLY RECIEVED 3 SPEAKERS, (WE DIDN'T GET THE THIRD SHORT FLAT ONE IN THE FRONT) BUT THE SOUND IS SO AMAZING AND CLEAR, WERE HAPPY ANYWAY. (I EVEN TRADED HER FOR MY COMPUTER SPEAKERS) ...LOL... I ALSO LOVE THE VOLUME SWITCH. SO EASY TO CONTROL AND SET UP.
Summary: The first set of speakers I ordered, the right output did not work. Sent back, received my refund, and contacted the seller and personally spoke to the owner of the company. Ordered another set and they work flawlessly. Very easy to set up, great sound quality. The only thing about the product that I find as a disadvantage is that it doesn't have a remote, so to change the volume you have to walk up to it and manually adjust the volume control -- can't do it from across...
Summary: Before I got this I had to transfer stuff from the computer to my home theater system to get good sound. As I am a music freak, this unit saves me a lot of time. The down side is that I now spend more time than ever at the computer! Using this with the computer gives you equalizer control. You just won't believe how good it sounds. I do have one problem with it. The wired remote is 'dirty'. It has static when adjusting volume. This started soon after we got it.
Summary: I was looking for a 2.1 speaker system because my bedroom isnt that big, it probably measures 11' by 12' . I recently bought a New 42" Vizio TV and wanted better sound that just the tv speakers.... 5.1 speakers would be too much for my room. After reading all the reviews i decided to buy this Philips multimedia speakers 2.1 system. In appearence the speakers look very nice and morern, and the subwoafer is great too.
Summary: I have purchased two of these systems. It sounds so good that I had to share with a family member. It does not charge the IPOD, but I accept that with the great price, connect-and-play, and such GREAT range (highs and lows).
Summary: I have used one of these Philips speaker sets on a Samsung plasma computer monitor with a TV built in for more than a year. I bought a second one recently to install on my computer when the existing unit expired. Both perform flawlessly. I particularly like the remote,(not wireless), volume control on the desk. Sound is excellent for such an inexpensive system.
