Summary: These speakers have done very well for me as just something to play music to go to sleep or play while taking a shower. I love the portability and they are very durable, I've dropped them twice, once on the ground and once in water and they still sound the same. I recommend these speakers to anyone.
Summary: These are a bit large and heavier than I would like but they pack well and I've taken them to Mexico, camping and they are now being used as better speakers for my laptop. Great product for the price, sound is decent. Don't expect mega base tho.
Summary: I liked the simple design of these speakers and the way they packed away for picnics and camping. The sound isn't that great. Tinny and muffled so I only gave it 3 stars for that. They're loud enough for casual music since they're battery powered. But don't expect to blast them and have a big party around these little guys.
Summary: I am stoked about this product. I went to a local Goodwill store, and bought these speakers for 6 bucks. I just needed some for my desk at work. I must be a retard because I thought it came with only one speaker and then some funky looking dome shaped music maker. I used it with my Zune with only one speaker. The sound was good. Then I realized it was another speaker attached to a circular piece of electronics with an on/off switch.
Summary: I picked these up at a local 'big box retailer' for about twenty dollars the pair. I needed much better sound for my notebook PC, and man do these deliver! Both spoken sound and music sound very full bodied and clear, and bass is there in good amounts as well. My only gripe would be that when you turn them up loud, the bass starts to distort and clip. But, this is true of most smaller iPOD/notebook PC speakers like these Philips.
Summary: I got a Droid X and put my MP3 library on the generous 16GB SD card. I've been shopping, including mail order, for travel speakers. Forget price. Up until now everything I tried was either small and tinny sounding or too big for an overnight bag. Again, forget price. I'm ashamed of how much money and time I've spent comparing travel speakers and the time I've put into returns.
Can't understand why this got so many good reviews

Summary: I bought these for a friend who watches DVDs on her laptop, but these little speakers go into overload distortion at ridiculously low volume. I wasn't expecting great quality -- these are powered by AAA batteries, after all -- but this is ridiculous. Back they go.
Summary: These Phillips speakers are a great little set. I can plug them into my laptop in the livingroom and hear great quality sound while I am out on my patio. I actually turned them down because I thought I might be annoying the neighbors. People have complained that there is no AC plug - only a battery. Not a problem if you use rechargeable batteries with the speaker set. I had also purchased the similar Sony SRS P11Q and found them to be awful.
Summary: Let's bear in mind that these are very inexpensive. if you are looking for studio quality sound, look elsewhere. What do these speakers have to offer? They have pretty good sound quality. For the price, they are the best I have tried. I use these when I'm camping, so I don't need them to be very loud, but I do need them to be loud enough to hear outdoors. They work best at med-high volume. At max vol they lose quality severely, but at mid to med-high they sound good.
