Summary: SO happy with this speaker!! It is exactly as described and works beautifully. Bought as a gift for my bf and he is loving it. The hand motion controls work flawlessly and add a fun feature to this speaker, and it can speak to you as well (e.g., tells you how much battery is left). Very rugged yet finished look, the green color looks awesome. The sound quality is excellent. Most likely will buy a second since they can be paired and we are very happy with this speaker.
Summary: The design of this speaker is beautiful! Somebody put a lot of thought into it. The problem is the quality of the look, doesn't match the sound. For the most part it is ok. a lot of midrange with lacking bass and highs. The hand gesture feature seems like more of a novelty than a functional control. I look like a wizard casting spells on the speaker haha. Overall its ok, but I would prefer a more basic rugged speaker with better sound.
Summary: Once you get down the setup, this is a powerful little speaker. And it's covered in a safety material in case it gets dropped or bounced around. I have listened to several of these and this was the out-and-out best.
Summary: I was really excited about this speaker at first. I had never owned a Bluetooth speaker before, and this one seemed affordable. It worked great for the first few days. The sound was crisp both with the Bluetooth connection and the line-in feature. I never was able to get the hand motion feature to work, but I did not spend a lot of time attempting to. After only a few days of use, any bass sounded distorted (even at low volumes).
Summary: This has really good sound. It connects easy to the iPad. The features are invisible and not intuitive. I'd love to figure it out, but I just can't. Volume, wave your hand over it to change tracks .... all great but not simple.
Summary: After my first week, instead of a complaint, ill call it a suggestion: turn off the gesture controls. Unless your Shoqbox sits stationary on a desk all day, these gestures are tricky to master and are inconsistent at best. As long as you arent comparing this product to a Bose system that costs twice as much, you're gonna love it. It gets plenty loud and sounds great. As far as longevity, the jury is still out.
