STAY AWAY!

Klaus Rasmussen, Amazon
1 September 2014
  • Summary: After the first use of this system the control unit malfunctioned and is now completely inoperable, after some research I found that this is a common problem with this system, after owning 2 logitech 5.1 systems in the past I expected the same quality from them to be in this system. I am sorely disappointed and would advise anyone considering to buy this to turn and run away as fast as they can. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BUY SOMETHING ELSE!

One Defective speaker in the bunch. Amazon does allow returns of this item

Gino Marrix, Amazon
1 July 2014
  • Summary: Ok system and sound. Good price... BUT. My luck got a nonfunctional speaker in the set and cannot return easily back to Amazon because its classified as a hazardous material for some reason. So now must battle with Logitech to get this fixed or replaced. What a pain and nust got it. Lower quality than the older Z5500 system it replaces. Do Not recommend.

Buyer Beware: No Refunds From Manufacturer or Amazon

JK, Amazon
1 November 2013
  • Summary: I am very disappointed with both Amazon and Logitech. I bought the Z906 Surround Sound Speaker System as a present for my boyfriend on Monday, received the product on Tuesday, and he set it up on Wednesday. Right away, one of the prongs in the DB-15 Connector (can be seen in the product image: back side of product, blue area labeled "console") was bent, rendering the product completely useless since it would not turn on.

Broke After 3 Months, but Logitech Replacing

V. Law, Amazon
8 July 2013
  • Summary: I was very shocked that after using for less than 3 months, the rear and center speakers stopped working. At first I thought it was my sound card, so I tried another computer, and an iPhone and I found out the speakers were indeed broken. I contacted Logitech, which has excellent customer service and they are going to replace my speakers. Ignoring that issue, in comparison to my old computer speakers, which was the Klipsch ProMedia 5.1, I am not impressed.

SPEAKERS DOA

alan walinske, Amazon
5 July 2013
  • Summary: I installed these speakers and spent over 1 hour on the phone with tech support. Speakers would not work only made weird sounds. The tech said to return them so I am in the process of doing that.

Successor? How?

JustSomeGuy, Adorama
28 April 2011
  • Excerpt: How is this product even considered to be a successor to the z-5500? The specs itself show that it lacks power in comparison to it's predecessor. Please bring back the z-5500 or atleast tweak the z906 to be better (not worst) than the z-5500. Giving us a downgraded version of your flagship product is hardly deserving of being called a successor. I was expecting something more. Something like: stronger sub, tweeters on every channel, DTS-HD or maybe being a 7.1 system.

Manufacturing Problems

Geno, Amazon
9 April 2011
  • Summary: I purchased this product to replace the Logitech Z5500, which had served well. Unfortunately, the Z906 had a number of flaws that makes this a "no-buy" review. 1. The quality of sound coming from the (500w!) system was markedly lower than the Z5500 -- particularly from the subwoofer, which is about 30% smaller than with the older system.
