Don't bother getting this without a dedicated HiFi sound card
3 weeks ago
Summary: I'll try to keep this brief. This is a great 5.1 setup for your either your computer or your home theater in a small room that does pretty much everything you expect it to, but it is incomplete and a curiously stupid design where the receiver/amp is built into the sub. They probably made it this way so you only need one power cable. That's why it only gets 4 stars. The main thing missing from this setup is a good sound card.
Summary: I'm not displeased nor regretting this purchase but that's not going to stop me from having a problem with the many flaws of this design. It's fine for most people, I think, but some of us have more acute/sensitive hearing than other people. It's part of human trait dynamics. For us, we need something more refined and that's not our fault, it's just a genetic quirk.
Pros: It's a 5.1 system for your computer that works well with either analog or optical inputs. For use in a small room it can produce nice enough sound right out of the box with no tweaking needed unless you're a stickler for particular frequencies. It also comes with a proper sub woofer (more on this later) rather than a cheap and rattly plastic shoebox like other 5.1 PC bundles tend to come with. The control unit is easy to use, though it's not much of a control panel. I...
Cons: For the asking price, people are being robbed. This is not a $400 system. Something closer to $250 would be more fair. The satellite speakers are about what I expected. There's nothing special about them and the sounds aren't as full as they should be. The included wires made me cringe when I saw none of them were even copper, but whatever. The worst and most baffling aspect of this system though is that the receiver is built into the sub woofer.. This presents a whol...
Summary: With the number of good quality speakers out there and the total lack of customer support from Logitech I would highly recommend spending your money with a different manufacture
Pros: Worked nice for 6 months sound was very crisp and had good base response
Cons: After 6 months this unit stopped working. I have tried to contact the manufacture and after 2 weeks they send me a e-mail asking me if I had everything connected properly. I even tried to call them and never could get anyone to answer. After spending this kind of money you would think the manufacture would back his product. I have purchased $50.00 head sets and had response from the manufacture in 2 days
Summary: What a difference! I do NOT wear "cans" for gaming or music listening so these speakers were on my short list of systems to get without going full home 7.1 rated. It is replacing a Razer Leviathan system (previous review) that replaces an old set of Logitech 5.1 speakers. Set up is easy, set the speakers up, put the amp/kicker where you want it , fed the color coded wires to the back of your kicker then to your speakers.
Summary: Honestly amazing sound. The installation was simple and easy to understand, the sub and speakers sound incredible. Crisp, clean, booming sound. I did a series of bass tests and sound checks to make sure I had bought great speakers, and I most certainly did. A great purchase for sure!
Summary: My last computer surround sound system finally failed after more than a decade of heavy use. There aren't nearly as many replacement options as there used to be, unfortunately. This appeared to be one of the better ones. Despite the wattage rating, volume isn't nearly as loud as I had hoped, nor is bass as deep. It's adequate, but not mindblowing. Certainly sufficient for gaming or general computer use, but hard to rock out when playing Rocksmith.
Summary: This product from Logitech is awesome. I have greatly considered buying separate pieces (like Bose, Klipsch, etc.) but I just don't have the money for going all out on an expensive sound system that can easily cost over $1000. Saw these, purchased them, and they sound phenomenal. The bass is very crisp, and the surround speakers have excellent quality. What I really like on this setup is the receiver and remote combination; all control is right at your fingertips.
Summary: I don't care what anyone says I've had Logitech products before but this is definitely the best multimedia 5.1 system I've ever owned I love it. Its loud movies come in crystal clear with this system. My music comes in with clarity I've never heard before- (must be the THX certified I've been hearing about for a while) I don't need BOSE or Klipsch or any of those high end brands out there.if this system lasts a couple of years I'll buy another set just like it.
Summary: Nice set of speakers I have these working along with a Sound Blaster Z sound card and I will say they do kick butt, speakers are very smooth across the frequency range the sub is a loose at times I like good tight bass but after all we are using these on a computer. I do like that I can hook these up to my TV at the same time as my computer & control the input on the control panel.
