Summary: This sound system is amazing. I own a logitech Z5500 which is in my living room. I was very pleased with the sound quality I purchased this sound system for my bedroom and i use it to watch bluray movies with their digital sound and I play video games on my xbox 360 the 5.1 channel sound with quality on this sound system sounds even better than my logitech z5500. I recommend this for everyone.
Summary: I received the Logitech z906 on September 23 2013 and the subwoofer went out on December 10 2013. I would never use the volume more than 3/4 and my subwoofer level was on half way. I listen to oldies and funk so there was no reason for the sub to mess up. The Logitech z906 sounds good although for a bit more money you can get a better system. The sound is better for movies with its tight bass.
Summary: I've had some Klipsch surround sound speakers for years - and when they died (a second time), I bought the Z906s (when they were on sale). Given a Saturday afternoon with not much to do, I finally mounted these on some Sanus stands and got them connected. All I can say is wow. I'd typically capitalize "wow" for effect, but it still wouldn't do it justice. Plugged in to a relatively old Creative X-Fi card, it's producing some killer sound.
Summary: These speakers are replacing Creative GigaWorks S750 THX Certified, 7.1 750 watts that lasted 11 years in perfect condition. The Z906 is connected to a windows Creative X-Fi Elite Pro 7.1, THX Certified sound card. I use a 2011 Mac Pro with dual Xeon processors and run Fiber Optic from the Mac Pro's sound card to the X-Fi Elite Pro in the Windows PC and the sound is phenomenal.

Summary: I am very disappointed with both Amazon and Logitech. I bought the Z906 Surround Sound Speaker System as a present for my boyfriend on Monday, received the product on Tuesday, and he set it up on Wednesday. Right away, one of the prongs in the DB-15 Connector (can be seen in the product image: back side of product, blue area labeled "console") was bent, rendering the product completely useless since it would not turn on.
Summary: first things first, this is a better system than z5500 imo. i owned z5500 for a couple of years. there was little treble, mids were muddy, bass was pretty outstanding. in comparison, these speakers have much better crisper highs, mids are well balanced (right where they should be), and the bass is outstanding. i had a slight hiccup with this setup though. i ran the 3.5mm wires from the back of my PC to the subwoofer. i thought it sounded pretty good....
Summary: These speakers started off sounding okay, giving me a bad impression...but after a few hours of use I realized that like all speakers this system had to be broken in a little to reach its maximum potential. After a few hours of use the next day these speakers sounded amazing !!! definitely worth your money as surround sound speakers can go up to thousands of dollars this is only 300 and sounds amazing!
