The Best Quality to Price Ratio for Computer Speakers
9 September 2014
Summary: I wanted a set of speakers for my college dorm that would provide some power but more sound quality. This is quality, not only in production but the actual speakers produce good sound. My set had a problem with randomly shutting off, but after opening the sub up and checking all the connections, it seems to have stopped. Speaking of the subwoofer, these do have a lot of bass, and I have turned down the bass control to compensate.
Excerpt: I ordered the Z623 speakers about a month ago to replace the Altec Lansing surround sound unit I received with an IBM XP deck top way back when. The speakers were delivered on time to a Staples store on time per shipment claim. I have not experienced any of the negative responses from some of the other reviewers. The speakers are crisp and clear with no distortion at a comfortable volume. The one thing I miss is the surround sound effect.
Excerpt: Purchased as an alternative to a bulky 5.1 set I bought with a Dell about 10 years ago (which still sound great btw). I just wanted to recover some space without sacrificing sound quality. Well, it was almost successful. Speakers and sub are of good, solid build. Sound great for movies and gaming. However, I mostly use to listen to music and they fall short. I get some distortion at any volume whether the bass is increased or not.
Summary: OK first these speakers are great for music and gaming. When you listen to music you hear clean crisp sound with great bass (DEEP BASS)!!! And when using these for movies and games it can fill the room with sound and it sounds fantastic. These sound better for gaming and movies than they do with music (in my opinion). Only downside is the sub-woofer is a pain to position in the room in order for you to hear clean full bass.
Excerpt: Great computer speakers for the price, just keep your expectations reasonable. Simple and powerful enough, these speakers will satisfy your needs until you purposly try to find the shortcomings, among which are somewhat weak mids and sometimes whistling highs. May serve as a small studio apartment acoustics that doesn't require special wiring or handling. Not a party type of speakers, however.
Pros: Compact, Good Sound, Simple To Install
Cons: Sometimes Whistling Highs, Somewhat Weak Mids
Excerpt: I've Hooked this up to my PC and it sound great. Sub-woofer is not too big and there is a knob to turn up or down the bass level. I only wish that it had even more power than it does but it's still a good buy for the money.
Pros: Separate Sub-woofer Level, Sounds Clean, Stylish
