Summary: The Logitech z523 is a great set of speakers with a few shortcomings that demolish my better opinion for this product. Pros: Great bass, sound controls all on one speaker, amplifier built-in to subwoofer, sound bigger than it looks.
Summary: Something to note is that I barely used these at all. I think I dusted them off more than actually using them. Probably less than 15 times they were used in the course of three years. Despite this they managed to go back, pretty sad.
Pros: The quality was good, no issues with ridiculous cord lengths or odd setups.
Cons: None, beyond the fact my right speaker decided to become more quiet than the left. Not the normal issues like most would have (one speaker not working for example). All efforts to fix this issue failed and I would have certainly sent this back in for replacement. However this conveniently happene...
Summary: I was pretty upset. I was really planning on enjoying this, but the subwoofer gives this terribly annoying buzzing sound at certain notes that I can't get rid of. It started doing it right off the bat. No return policy though.
Summary: I had a pair of Altec Lansing speakers that I had for years and was very happy with. The "pin" plug was flawed, and I made the mistake of taking it out, and then couldn't get it back in and jacked up all the pins.
Summary: I was very excited to get these speakers and very disappointed when they came. I love Logitech and prefer them for all of my peripherals, but these were a huge letdown. I received a horrible humming feedback when I first plugged them in.
Summary: I bought these for my daughter's PC. I really like Logitech hardware (I'm using their keyboards, mice, controllers like joystickes, gamepads and steering wheel) so I was expecting something that would sound as good as (or better than) the Creative speakers I have hooked up to my own PC.
Pros: Attractive. Easy setup.
Cons: Bass way to loud, combination missing a whole spectrum of frequencies, satellites sound like cheap dollar store speakers.
Cons: After just about a year, the right speaker has begun popping, hissing, crackling, and otherwise cutting out. I haven't moved the speakers since plugging them in a year ago--just poor build quality on Logitech's part. Seems that most of their products give out after about a year.
Summary: I purchased these speakers to upgrade from an inexpensive set we had. The sound was awful. The bass was very "Muddy", and the rest was not very clear. It felt like they were muffled from another room.
