Summary: These speakers are no better than a cheap pair of no-name PC speakers. I can hear the mid and high distortion at only half volume. I see other reviews on here claiming good sound, but all I can say is keep your reciept. I am taking these back, and I bet the replacements won't be Logitech.
Summary: On a whim I needed to blast some music while I soldered up DMX cables for a patch panel. So I went to a PC shop and after looking at a few logitech products thought I would go LARGE with this 40watt (RMS) beast. it seemed good for the money. My heart sank as soon as I hit the volume control. Tiny rubbish. Quiet. This ain't 40watts (RMS), honey. I was rediscovering why I DON"T impluse buy. I REGRET purchasing this unit.
Summary: Preface: I purchased these speakers given my previous love for a great many Logitech products. I have purchased older Logitech Z4 speakers on sale and they turned out to be a fantastic value (wife uses them now). I have nothing but Logitech mice and keyboards for my systems. I purchased these speakers to replace my Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 of which I had problems with since Day 1 with connectivity and short-outs.

Summary: Bought these speakers last year and within a few months, they just started to rumble and emit a hum and crackling noise even when there was nothing playing, but just when the speakers were just turned on. I would be sitting in the next room and all of a sudden, you would just start to hear a roaring rumbling and crackling and I would get up and run to turn off the speakers. I did talk to Logitech customer support and they sent me replacement set, free of charge.
Excerpt: Intended uses were for watching movies and listening to music. Since these speakers had only a big bass with no mid-range and a tinny high range they were terrible for music listening and only great for explosions when watching movies. I returned them.
Summary: I really wanted to upgrade from the cheapie 20 speakers I've had for some time. In the end it came down to this set or the Z2300 Logitech set. I'm VERY glad I picked this one. This is rated as not being nearly as powerful as the z2300 and these are LOUD. When I put the bass to about 1/4 of it's power it makes my desk lamp vibrate. For the average person these will do just fine for being next to your computer or TV. These are amazing bang for your buck.
