Summary: I'm not techie and my comments are based on my idealism as opposed to actual technical knowledge. I see mini speakers all over the place for tv systems and they have awesome sound. I wasn't expecting exactly that for the small price I paid but I thought they would be a bit closer than they were. These speakers are certainly better than the ones I replaced but they stopped well short of impressing me.
Summary: They're pleasing to the eye, but nothing special when it comes to the sound coming out of them. The difference would be to have a base unit on the floor to give some range. I'm not sending them back because they get the job done, but I'm not looking forward to hearing music on my computer any longer.
I bought these speakersGood speakers just not for an office.

Summary: I bought these speakers to put on my desk in my office. After looking at the dimensions of other speakers I thought these would be compact enough to sit by my monitor without taking up too much desk space. They are taller than one would expect and they have a weird shape. The cords are plenty long so there was no problem plugging them into the wall or the computer. They are NOT good for playing music softly.
Excerpt: I have a very small room and did not want to perturb my housemates too much (and did not want to spend much since I already have a gorgeous system with wonderful sound and am only living at my current location temporarily). That said, these little speakers do well in it and offer a very clear sound that doesn't travel to the rest of the apartment.
Excerpt: I already own the Logitech X-140 speaker system. When the Z320 is compared to the X-140, the Z320 sounds slightly better up to the point where the bass starts to overmodulate, then the X-140 sounds slightly better after I adjust the tone control to compensate for the overmodualtion of the bass.
Pros: Mini-TRS headphone jack
Cons: High gloss surface, No speaker cover grill, No tone control
