Summary: These are not very expensive and that's about all the good I can say about them. Despite their fairly large size and larger speaker cones (2.5") they have no depth or bass at all. They look impressive, but even comparing them to smaller PC speakers, they are very thin sounding.
Summary: Right speaker sounds great. But the left speaker sounds scratchy like it has a wiring issue. Disappointed since this had so many great reviews. I'll probably turn my left speaker on mute in order to use them until i get sick of it and buy a different set.
Summary: These speakers are very, very nice for the price. I was a little disappointed by the lack of bass when I first cranked them up, but you just have to give it a little time. I think that my previous speakers were also a little bass-heavy. These speakers are clear as day. I am a connoisseur of the fine performing arts. Symphony music sounds amazing in these speakers. Highs and mids are crisp, and the bass is not overbearing.
Summary: (tl;dr: Purchased as a stopgap while I save up for high-end speakers. They're certainly up to that task.) Just buy them. If you're looking at speakers this cheap, all you want is for sound to come out of them. It does. I'm happy. Obviously, 4-stars is a rating of price/performance ratio, not absolute performance. One caveat: at 10" tall, they'll disappoint someone looking for travel speakers.
Summary: Relatively flat sound but very inexpensive. I really like my Logitech Z323 speakers, the desktop speakers themselvers are smaller but much better sound with the woofer. The 2.1 setups works great in most situations and I like the VGA-connection between volume speaker and base unit.
Summary: I finally found the AC adapter for these, and they are great. I can hear clearly now, the (st)rain is gone. (Sorry, song running through my head). My only complaint is that I can't hang these on the wall. The white plastic "stand" is permabonded to the back of the speakers, so they have to sit on my table. But this is not enough to cut them down a star. And my suggestion to the manufacturer is to make the cord that plugs into the sound jack on the computer longer.
