Summary: I have had the Logitech Z560 for about 6 - 7 years now and up until last month I enjoyed the hell out of the speakers. The sound quality from the speakers is amazing hence the reason I never bothered to upgrade them all these years. Last month however while blasting the speakers to a bass beat showing off to friends (as I had done in past many many times) the foam around the speaker popped resulting in a rip that extended about 1/3 around the speaker.
Summary: Basically the best 4.1 system out there for a computer. Considering the price, it's an absolute steal. The bass is low and true, the highs clean and clear. Buying anything else would just be silly and excessive. Klipsch speakers offer similar quality but at about 175% the price. Save yourself some cash and make the smart choice!
Logitech Z560 Speakers "Still Awesome After 10 Years"

Summary: Update 2010; Read my review of Z-2300's and this update to my 2005 review of the Z-560's ...its heading towards 2011 now and these speakers are still pumping out amazing sound as they did when they were new. They are at least 10 years old and I'm sorry to see they are no longer available but Logitech as a brand has developed quite a reputation for quality. Their new Z THX certified series (Z-2300's, Z-5300's, Z-5500's) will hold up and perform well, too.
Summary: I have had these speakers for 2 years now and they are awesome. Let's do the Pro and Con list and hopefully I will get some helpful votes: Pro: Look Cool Has a volume knob Headphone jack (which turns off speakers when pluged in) Fade (surround sound) Knob Bass Knob 400 watts THX Logitech (great brand) Not too expensive Very loud (too loud for my apartment, hope my neighbors like my music and my video games...?
Excerpt: I got this speaker set over a year ago as a refurbed item. I did a lot of research to find the most bang for my buck and this system definitely delivers. The subwoofer is so powerful I usually keep it on 1. The sound is great and the satellite speakers can be wall mounted. Set up was easy and the sound is awesome. With online radio and these speakers, your stereo will no doubt be reserved to TV surround sound duty. The subwoofer is amazing but it does vibrate a lot.
Pros: Great sound, long speaker wires, wall-mountable satellite speakers, subwoofer really booms.
Cons: Retail is alitle pricey, but refurb is an option at half the price.
Worth every penny. Use it right, it will work great.

Summary: I bought mine refurbished(...). I figure mine is probably one of the unit some dim bulb blew out, and Logitech fixed it. I have the volume turned up 60% on my PC. I turn off any effects since I want my sound natural. I turn the bass all the way down and use the 4.1 from my sound. The sound gets extremely loud at only 30% on the knob, that's with only 60% on the OS volume.
Summary: Great speaker setup. It's wonderful. I love them, and hate to listen to music on anything but them. With that little bit out of the way, let's try a better, more balanced review. I've read some of the other reviews, and they make good points. The key to getting good results out of this product is attention to details. Make sure that you go through and set up everything properly. Make sure the sound options are setup correctly on your computer.
Excerpt: I couldn't have possibly imagined the quality of these speakers. After running them through the paces, I can with all honesty say these are even better than our THX Dolby Digital Theater in town, which is by far one of the best theaters I've ever been to. This is almost Imax quality sound I'm not kidding. It's missing a center channel, but considering the fact there is a monitor in the way of 5.1 I actually like the 4.1 setup.
Pros: THX isn't just a marketing gimmick. Subwoofer isn't boomy or thumpy.
Cons: Single Driver speakers lack midrange strength.
Summary: I bought these speakers in December 2003 as an early Christmas present to myself. I was intending to buy a cheap 2.0 speaker setup for my Sony CD walkman. I went to CompUSA(But didn't buy from them) to check prices, power, frequency responses, and other criteria. The store had many speaker systems set up for availiable testing. I, being intrigued with the speakers on display(and their high prices) tested them out.
