Excerpt: One system that offers similarly impressive sound and that has a much lower price tag is the Logitech Z-560. Currently the lowest-priced four-channel THX-certified computer speaker on the market, it's the first system we've seen that beats the Klipsch ProMedia 4.1 at its own game. Boasting even higher volume levels, a superior high end, and more powerful bass, the 400-watt Z-560 produces ear-splitting output that seems virtually impossible from a desktop speaker system.
Conclusion: The only small shortcoming we could find was the fact that there is no treble adjustment on the Control Center box but this was just a minor setback. The bass control allowed us to dial in pretty much any tonal adjustments we needed. As such, we can't score the Z-560s a perfect "10" on the Heat Meter but if there were a 9.9, the Z-560s would have earned every bit of it.
Conclusion: As much as I praised this system in the review, of course there are better systems out there…if you pay the price! However, for the meagre (yeah I know its not exactly meagre) price tag of AU$499 (Available from PC's Australia in NSW for $394), these speakers provide superb sound in all applications, and shouldn’t be looked past. As the saying goes ‘Look for quality, not quantity’.
