Summary: It was odd "reviewing" this... as it's a replacement part for a larger system, and thus it's sort of strange, trying to not review the top-level system along with the replacement component. So... let's do both.
Summary: My original control unit for a Z5500 speaker let it's smoke out a few months ago and was dead after about 5 years service. Since the speakers are no longer produced I expected that I would have a hard time finding a replacement control unit.
Summary: MUSIC: For all those that have negative/critical feedback regarding reproduction for music, I want to recommend using the Equalizer functionality of your sound card software. If that is not available, then I recommend downloading and using a player that does (VLC is freeware and quite good.
Excellent for games and movies, not the best for music

Summary: A very amazing surround sound system for games and movies. However, for more critical listening such as music playback or recording, this set up is not ideal. With movies and games, the audio is moving around so much that speaker location is not overly important.
High quality! great system! loud and with good quality!

Summary: Yea, this is a great speaker system, goes very very loud, and still I never got to peak it, the Bass is very deep, and works perfectly at those intense moments. I use this for movies, Games, and Computer. with a high quality set up, everything just works very well, nothing can compare!
Summary: After the most recent round of price drops, I bought these speakers to replace the budget Z 680 set I've been using since college. I have found the Z 5500 set to be a great value for the money..
