Great Sound, but when it breaks no replacement parts

Summary: Loved the sound this speaker system produced -- while it lasted. One morning woke up and the controller pod was dead. Logitech does not replace the controller pod, you have to buy a whole new set of speakers. So if you're one month out of warranty, tough luck. The explanation I was given is the controller is mated to the Sub but you cannot by the sub and controller either.
Summary: I owned these speakers for about 11 months and the whole time, they worked perfectly. Sound is awesome coming from these speakers, both from the satellites and sub-woofer. However after 11 months of use, the control pod simply gave out and would not turn back on. Called Logitech support and stated it had failed and I had to send it back. However the down side is this set is not produced anymore so I have to get the "new" Z906 set from them.
Summary: After spending much time with Logitech diagnosing why only 2 speakers worked, they deemed the unit to be defective. I've wanted these speakers for some time now because of all the reviews I've read saying these were fantastic speakers, but I cannot enjoy them since the seller sold me a defective unit. I don't blame Logitech on this, rather the seller.
Summary: This is one of the most powerful systems you'll find that's designed specifically for use with a computer. Some details on the system: It's got enough inputs that you could hook it up to other media as well. Amp is built into the rather large powered subwoofer, which connects to the speakers through standard speaker wire. The speaker wire that comes with it is thin and cheap, but it works. The satellite speakers could be switched out for better quality speakers.
Summary: The Good: Digital inputs, many features. Optical, coaxial in, extremely loud. The large array of inputs and easy setup is the main attractive feature of this set and should not be looked down on by the casual user. However, all of these various bells and whistles add up to something: cost.
Summary: As hard as it is to believe, Logitech has been selling this speaker system for over 7 years, at least I've had a set in continuous use for at least that long. In general, it has served me well. The sub-woofer has a good kick to it, and I appreciate the variety of inputs, not to mention the huge volume control knob. However, it is a bit old, and has its limitations.

Summary: I bought these speakers a few years ago. They sound great. The bass is awesome. The price is right. I got them on Amazon for a great price. The only problem is that they didn't last very long. I called Logitech and they had me send them the control panel and sent me a whole new system. That one didn't last very long either. I think the control panel goes bad. I was too lazy to call Logitech the second time and didn't know if they would replace them again anyway.
