Summary: I was hoping to upgrade to speakers that were USB and also had a good strong sound with decent-good base. Not "mega" bass - just good strong bass. I find these have good quality sound quality and volume, but the $55. speakers I replaced these with had separate controls for bass and treble which I really would like on these, since the base I think is weak. The remote is a gimmick I could do without and also easy to lose I would think.
Summary: These speakers are at best O.K., nice sound but there is background noise if you try to use the mouse or do anything other than just listen to them. The cable that connects the two speaker together is a non standard size so if you need to extend them further apart it cannot be easily done. Overall I find this product average to somewhat disappointing coming from Logitech I would have expected better.
Summary: I have been pretty satisfied with speaker systems from Logitech. The one I am using now is Logitech Z-680 5.1 channel THX certified speaker system and it still works great for my home theatre system. When I found about a Z-5 USB speaker, it instantly attracts my attention, since I have been looking for a nice PC speaker with a USB connection. Specifically, my 4 year old notebook computer does not generate any sound and I need a decent speaker for it.
Summary: Logitech Z-5 USB Speakers for PC/Mac The Logitech Z-5 speakers are advertised as providing Omni-directional sound via multiple drivers per speaker. The drivers use a primarily polymer-like material and provide outstanding high-frequency audio. The mid-range is above average since it still sounds somewhat muffled, but the low-range audio / bass response is non-existent. It sounds like you are listening to songs out of a tin can.
Summary: These do indeed sound okay no matter where in the room you are, and the remote is cool, but the problem is there is such limited power and the sound is very flat. Even using some of the equalizer presets in iTunes doesn't help much. There is virtually no bass coming from these speakers. I am playing some dance and R&B music right now, and I have the speakers on a wood desk.
Excerpt: At first, i had some useless, bad-looking pair of speakers that i put up with for almost 3 years. Then i decided to buy new ones. After a short market research, i found these. I ordered them online from www.amazon.co.uk about a year ago. The price was close to 40 eyros if i remember correctly, now you can find them at 25-30. As far as the quality of the sound, at first i was speechless of the difference there was between them and my old ones.
Pros: Good sound quality, nice price, beautiful speakers
Cons: Potential connectivity problem, no control buttons on the speakers
Good for small areas-Sound projection is poor does not replace a good stero

Summary: Good Quality great for producing sound in a small area, not good for entertaining due to lack of sound intensity. The 360'c degree sourround produces great sound within a 2mx2m radius. The sound quality is great but the loudness of the speakers is poor.
Excerpt: Logitech Z5---REVIEW--- LOOKS The Logitech z5 speakers look fine, and will slot into place on any desktop. The minimal wiring is also great, adding to the aesthetics, and it is a nice little package. SOUND For USB, 2.0 speakers, the sound from these is superb. Crisp, clear, with good mid-tones and treble, the speakers deliver, and with their "omni-directional sound" they almost sound like 5.1s.
Pros: Portable, good looking, few wires, remote, easy setup
Summary: Ce produit répond à ma demande, diffuser du son à partir de mon ordinateur portable sans avoir besoin d'un branchement électrique en classe. Ce n'est pas ce que j'aurais choisi pour un usage personnel.
