Summary: I truly enjoy the Z5's. I needed more sound from my laptops. Z5's are the answer. USB powered, makes them convenient, the resonant camber bass, gives a full rich sound which can fill a room due to the tower placement of the remaining speakers of the system. I have the Z5's wherever I take a laptop for a prolonged period. I don't carry them around I have several sets of them, even though they are quite portable. The remote control is just icing on the cake.
Summary: Reasonable quality music reproduction with a minimal footprint. The sound emminates from the speakers much more blended in the room, making the music a great deal more lifelike. Better than adequate, I'm rather enjoying them!
Summary: My primary use for these speakers is at work, my radio broke and considering most of the stations I listen to stream online I figured why not just use my laptop and find myself a decent set of speakers. So I came across the Logitech Z-5, which seemed to be receiving pretty positive reviews but the thing that caught my eye(aside from the omnidirectional sound)was that they were USB powered, essentially eliminating the power cords(less clutter is always a plus:).
Summary: I bought these to use with a Vizio LED TV which has very canny sound. For their size the speakers put out a great quality of sound and you even get some base. The omni sound works great in our kitchen. The system probably won't fill a large room, but sounds great in a small-medium sized room. The USB power helps to keep cords to a minimum on the counter. I am very impressed with the quality for the price.
Summary: These are great speakers. I got them for less than $30 on eBay, so I got a pretty good deal, but I would literally easily pay the MSRP price (i think their like $80) because no matter where you are in the room, you have great sound (you dont have to be facing the speakers because of the omni-directional output). Another great thing about these speakers is that you dont need any power source to run them because it plugs right into the USB port.
Summary: These speakers sound great, but the remote control does not work. That would not be a problem for me if the speakers also had a manual volume control but they don't - the volume control is on the remote which does not work. I don't really need the other buttons on the remote, I just need a volume control. The remote came with a battery - I also bought a new battery to make sure that wasn't the problem but the remote still does not work.
Summary: Great speakers. I will probably get another set for the computer in the bedroom. When you buy cheap speakers, you get cheap, tinny sound. For a few extra bucks, get these speakers they are excellent. They look good and sure do sound good. There is no volume control on the speaker themselves but have a little remote control. My remote does not work at the moment, but I will figure it out.
Summary: I was hoping to upgrade to speakers that were USB and also had a good strong sound with decent-good base. Not "mega" bass - just good strong bass. I find these have good quality sound quality and volume, but the $55. speakers I replaced these with had separate controls for bass and treble which I really would like on these, since the base I think is weak. The remote is a gimmick I could do without and also easy to lose I would think.
Summary: would be nice if they had a volume control on the speaker itself took a little while to figure out how to get sound out of them. thought they would just plug in and play. but in retrospect I got a brief tutorial on how to navigate thru the sound/speaker setup programs on my windows xp. finally I was rewarded with great sound. Logitech should continue to build and improve on this model.
