Summary: Really disappointing that such awesome speakers can be rendered broken by something so cheap and easy to fix. The way they are designed now, one would have to take apart the housing of the volume control and hope that a replacement cable would be simple to solder in.
Pros: Great sound for the price.
Cons: Audio cable jack has a busted filament--thus only one speaker and the sub receive sound. This would be fine, if the cable were replaceable, since they cost $3.
Summary: quick version: I can no longer play YouTube videos on my computer at night because even at low volumes the bass thumps through the walls, potentially disturbing roommates. Five stars otherwise. details: My brother has these speakers. I liked the sound at his house so got some for my apartment.
Cons: Don't expect to run these at high volume for a long time. Using these for house parties resulted in blown amps and speakers after 1hr of use. They just get too hot, been through logitech returns twice.
Summary: I bought these to replace a 10 year old set of2.1 Boston Acoustics Media Theater speakers and quite frankly, they don't compare. These are better than most people's computer speakers, thats not a high standard though.
Pros: The highs are very good. The bass has plenty of power.
Cons: There is hardly any mid range in these speakers. I was really disappointed in that. The bass has more power than you'll need, but it isn't a clean crisp sound. Its rather murky and muddled.
Summary: Logitech fail. I don't recommend using any rebates offered by logitech.
Pros: The speakers have good mids and really good lows which come from the subs. The highs are a little lacking but overall the speakers are fantastic.
Cons: I wasn't sure how I was going to review this product because newegg service was great but logitech's, on the other hand, was horrible. I initially bought these speakers because there was a 30 dollar rebate being offered if I bought it within a certain time frame. I mailed out my rebate as soon as...
Summary: Currently playing with the eq, throwing the highs down and turning the volume up and the bass down. Hopefully through some finking I can get something to work.
Pros: First off, I'm used to having an amplifier and bookshelve speakers set up in my room... I decided to move those to the living room with hopes of getting something smaller in here. Now for the sound. HUGE BASS. The bass will fill a room, very deep and clean. The highs are nice, not super crisp, bu...
Cons: Eh. The mids. I anticipated there might be an issue with this. The drivers on the speakers look like mid-highs. They sound that way too. The mid's are crisp and little. I enjoy warm separated mids, and this setup will not produce them.
Summary: I bought these speakers based on the lengthy and detailed reviews from other buyers - some of which claim they have an ear for good quality. I don't regret buying the set because the sub and amplifier are excellent, but I was pretty frustrated by the mids and highs.
Summary: From the reviews, you'd think this system was an audiophile's dream at an insanely low price. Suffice to say that while it sounds OK, don't expect anything great - it sounds decent for computer speakers, but that's all. If you're used to small, plastic speakers, you'll think it sounds great.
Summary: These speakers are very good initally. They have great sound and the sub delivers very good bass for its size. However, I've had these speakers for less than 6 months and the left speaker is already broken (it cannot play low sounds without coming distorted). I wish I knew how to return these.
