Summary: I purchased these speakers way back in 2004. They have proved to be outstanding over the years. Superb sound for the cost. There is one problem though that I want to document in case someone comes across it. The volume control and on/off/headset jack started shorting. Speakers would short out.
Summary: I bought this 2.1 system back in 2004 and today I am still using it with barely any issues. Hardware: This speaker system has survived moving to 5 different locations, one of the move being a cross country travel. The speakers survive with not a single scratch.
Summary: If you are encountering static problems with the z2200's, call Logitech and their (2 or one year) warranty covers it. They will send you a free pair of Z2300s in replacement. You even get to keep the old 2200s!
Summary: I ordered these speakers while they were on sale at amazon. They sounded great for a a few months, but then started to produce static whenever they were on. Even with the volume turned all the way down. I called customer service, and they are sending me the Z2300's as replacements.
Summary: Anyway by the time you will get this review the Z2200 is no longer in production. As many others after 3 months I had problems with the LEFT speaker. For sure its a technical problem with the system because this is not an unic case.
Summary: I purchased my Z2200 through Amazon for around a $110 before a $50 Logitech Rebate. I received the rebate within 6 weeks and I was also glad to have received the product on time and in perfect shape. I am relatively green to the subject of acoustics.
Summary: After researching dozens of products I decided to go with these and skip a 5.1 setup. Sure, they sound good, no complaints really. The only major one I have is that I live in an apartment. The bass is too loud, even when turned ALL the way down.
Summary: Initially i was quite impressed by the quality of sound from these relatively in expensive speaker but as some one else pointed out, with in weeks i started receiving static from my LEFT speaker (why only LEFT.........I dont know) but it is terribly annoying.
Summary: These speakers are amazing. I went to a computer store and listened to all the speakers they had for about half an hour, and these are the ones I decided were the best. As luck would have it, they didn't have them in stock, but I went home and found them here for even cheaper.
Summary: The new age of multimedia means higher standards in audio, video, and hardware. One of the main hardware components in the age of MP3s and digital audio players is a good set of multimedia speakers.
