Pros: Like a previous reviewer wrote, I too bought these in 2005 for around $70 and they've lasted. However, I can't understand why they're selling for $250 now. I realize there's such a thing as inflation but that's just out of control. For $70 they were well worth the price.
Cons: The left rear channel cuts out occasionally. But then again I've had these for 10 plus years. I actually bought the Z506s to replace these, but they sucked so I returned them and put my old ones back in service.
Summary: This is a great 5.1 Speaker set. For $199 that is way overpriced. I paid $74.88 plus tax for mine 2 years ago and it's still working great. One of the pittfalls on this Logitech X-530 5.1 Speaker System is the 5.1 setup.
Lack of shielding on cables can cause distortion; sound quality is almost full

Summary: I purchased these speakers on sale for $60. The speakers have decent sound quality to put it fairly. The satellites lack depth and since there is no tweeter, don't expect sparkling highs. The subwoofer is better than I expected in terms of good sound at higher volumes.
Pros: I saw that product in 2005..comparing this product in age, most speakers that offered with it were in history or price down except this. So, I bought it now. The speaker is small but the sound is very clean without AC noise signal, loud and powerful. Although the woofer diameter is 5 inch small a...
Cons: -Because I live in small room 3x3, The bass woofer is working although it is in minimum .. I have a lot of music that has bass,I can't volume up because I only hear the woofer than high frequency sound and hurt my neighbors if I vol up. -when you listen closely to the satellites, sounds like a pi...
Summary: Nice price for this set. I grew up with a home surrond sound system in my house and this beats that. I use it for my Xbox 360 and computer and both are amazing. I dont get any crackling out of it and the sounds are clear as hell. This is also my 5th speaker system.
Pros: Great system, I can't even touch the nob on the speakers cause its to loud and the sub-woofer is way to sweet for my house.
Cons: just the stand is a little stupid and no optical.
Summary: I originally purchased the X-540 but I returned it. I did not like the remote as it always got covered with papers. The volume is on the speaker as has been tradition since the old multimedia PCs first included speakers. I like it better. The difference in sound is none.
Pros: Sound is adequate. I considered many different speakers and decided not to blow a wad on computer speakers. I am generally happy with the speakers as they have a nice small footprint on my desk. The sound does not bowl me over but when I sit 2 feet from them the sound is just fine. I have the sub...
Cons: Not the most attractive speakers but not ugly. The center channel will occasionally dominate the sound spectrum. Most of the time this is not a problem.
Summary: The sub on this system is plain weak. I keep my volume at maybe 18% on the knob and about 65% (set by my sound card) The speakers give great sound. And clear. But the sub bottoms out and mostly just humms and gives very distorted thumps that can be felt around the room.
Pros: Still working , bought in august 06 from newegg. 5.1 sound. Were pretty cheap.
Summary: This may be in my setup, but my rear speakers are considerably louder then the fronts, I probably set it up wrong. Rear cables are a good length, fronts are too, at least for my cramped set up.
Pros: High Quality, pretty beefy, aka you drop them they won't scratch bad or break. They look and sound nice, and they're pretty easy to work with. The center speaker grips tight on top of my big CRT, in my case with a small area, it helps a lot.
