Summary: fist off, i am an audiophile. and the sub woofer plays mids.. more so than i would like. and it gets vary hard to listen to at times. but if you listen to rap, hip hop and what not they are great, has a vary tight bass. and it can get vary loud, i have has this system for about 2-3 years and its still going strong. the highs are nice ans crisp. and i really like that you can have them on the wall.. they are on my desk now because i moved.
Summary: I absolutely love the Logitech X-230. I bought them three years ago and they were phenomenal quality. But, then I moved and couldn't take them with me, so I found them on overstock.com and got them there. The mesh on my refurbished speakers is torn and the left speaker sounds distorted, and I know that this isn't a reflection of the speakers - I just wasn't lucky with the refurbishing thing.
Summary: These speakers are good for the price, and the average person would probably enjoy them. i use these in my dorm room in college, and they're great for playing music, though the subwoofer is very boomy even when i set the sub volume at 0. i semi-fixed the boomy sub problem by clogging the port with a sock, and putting the sub up on the rack under my desk insulated from the desk with a bit of foam. less solid contact with the floor removed some of the boominess.
Summary: Good product, good sound, good price, but HORRIBLE wire-management. The wires from the speakers are incredibly short and then there is a 9 pin serial like cable that connects the sub woofer to the satellite speakers, so one speaker has 3 wires (short I might add) coming from it, which really limits its usage in my office....but the price was good so I'm still satisfied.
A decent system by could have been better designed

Summary: I bought this system as a potential upgrade replacement to my existing, 8-year-old Altec Lansing 3-piece speaker system. I did back-to-back comparisons (using music), and found that the Logitech speakers had good bass response but weren't quite as clear on the top end. Also, there were some ergonomic issues with the system's design. Logitech put the bass level knob on the sub-woofer, which is inconvenient, and there's no treble control at all.
A basic speaker system that fulfills basic functions

Summary: Make no mistake, this is just a very basic powered speaker system with subwoofer. The sound quality is average. For a low-end computer configuration, this will be functional. Pros: The speakers connect to the subwoofer via a plug that has dual screws to hold it in place. In the past, I've found some speaker plugs that aren't secured with screws to come loose and periodically require reseating. Also, the price is VERY good. Cons: average sound quality.
Summary: An excellent speaker system, however the power button is placed to make it difficult to turn off (if one pushes the button, the speaker slides backwards) and the subwoofer control is on the subwoofer itself, which means if u want to change it, you have to crawl under the desk and find the dial on the side. Still, as speaker/subwoofer the fidelity is great & plays well.
Summary: As speakers, these Logitech x230s are great. Wonderful sound, lots of power in the bass (but not overwhelming), and no need to crank up the volume to get the sense of music surrounding you. On that score, these speakers get 5 stars. However. There is a headphone jack in the right speaker, but the speaker does not amplify the sound - it comes directly from the sound card.
3 stars for value, 2 for actual sound quality, plus some advice

Summary: These speakers are availabe for around thirty bucks if you dig around online, which is a great price for what you get. Still, what you get is, as the negative reviews have warned correctly, way too boomy and overpowering bass from the sub which cannot be turned down enough...why couldn't Logitech give us a full-range subwoofer volume control for Chrissakes??? Surely it wouldn't add anything to the production cost!

Summary: First, the good: - This system looks reasonably slick. - The main speakers sound wonderful! No more hiss like with my old speakers... wonderfully crisp sound! - Everything was straightforward and easy to setup. But the bad...: - Cords are a bit short. I had to put the right speaker closer to to my computer than I wanted to. - Surprisingly, this doesn't seem to have the same peak volume that my five-year-old Logitech speakers have.
