Summary: One would think that as a design gets older, the price would go down because of how out-dated it is. I bought these speakers in January of 2013 and for much less than half of what they are now.
Pros: I bought these speakers for 24 bucks on this site when they were on sale marked down from 30. The fact that they're 70 bucks now kind of says a few things.
Cons: Price jump. I was planning on getting a set of these for my girlfriends dad but this is a little out of his price range now. The price I paid almost two years ago for these same speakers would have been worth it.
Summary: Ultimately the reason I've rated this the way I have is because of an annoying issue related to the right speaker. When listening to something, especially (it seems) people speaking, the speaker has a tendency to "rattle" or make a loud echoing sound.
Pros: - Good sound quality (for the most part) for the price - Headphone jack on the speaker itself - looks nice
Pros: Sound good. Headphone jack. Cords are long enough. Would be 4-5 stars if not for Con...
Cons: These things pick up the radio very clearly. When powered but not being used you can hear and understand the DJ talking, the lyrics in the songs, etc. It is like a radio is on at very low volume. I've tried getting the ferrite bands, had 3 of them on there on different cords and it made no differ...
Summary: This is a good product in every way except sound quality. It's OK for what I'm looking for (decently loud, robust build, good looking), but there are better sounding products in this price range.
Summary: I got these because I didn't want to disturb my roommates when I listen to music. I wasn't looking for anything supreme. However, I used to have a pair of altec lancing 2.0 speakers and I feel like the sounded much much better. Also the JBL's I had on my Lenovo laptop sounded better I think.
Pros: The sound is very nice and they are pretty powerful considering the price.
Cons: The knobs have uneven resistance. As you turn from one end to the other they are easy to turn at first, then very hard, then medium, then hard again, etc. It's awkward and weird. I don't like it.
Summary: thought these would sound almost as good as my 70 dollar pair of bose companion speakers but nothing remotely close , to be non usb powered and require a plug to power on these speakers don't sound all that good
Pros: they sort of work
Cons: Sound is not much better if any than my altec lansing 14 dollar usb powered speakers
