Adequate at low power

Aaron Birenboim "DSP Weenie", Amazon

  • Summary: This system does an adequate, but not great, job of decoding digital S/PDIF audio with volume adjust for center, surround, and subwoofer. It has several simple digital decode modes.

Reasonable sound, but not really computer speakers

Indroth, Amazon
13 October 2004
  • Summary: When I got these speakers, I was under the impression that, with theses speakers, I would finally get the 5.1 sound my sound card could produce. Unfortunately, it turns out that there are only a coulple of soundcards out there that can output dolby digital, and mine wasn't one of them.

Limited inputs make for bad computer choice

khomotso "clayf39", Amazon
24 March 2004
  • Summary: The limited inputs for this speaker set means that any computer user with a Creative sound card (and that's most of us) is going to be stuck listening to stereo output. In which case your 5.1 just became a 2.1. Claiming these to be computer speakers is nothing short of irresponsible.

Beware!!!

Andrew G, Amazon
29 April 2003
  • Summary: Folks, these are great sounding speakers. They truly are. But these speakers are ALL digital and play TRUE digital sound. Even though they may sound great, these speakers only play 2.1 sound unless you have a DIRECT digital connection.
