Avoid at all costs!
31 October 2005
Summary: I just bought a pair of these speakers and I have to warn everyone to avoid them at all costs. They produce an unbelievable hiss, even when turned all the way down (the hiss is louder than my entire computer).
Summary: please so not buy, i highly reccomend you dont, klipsch has the worst service i have ever seen, i redeived defective speakers that didnt work and klipsch refuses to exchange, repair, or even talk to me like a human being for that matter.
Summary: I work in the media department at a local university. About a year ago, we purchased four sets of these speakers for use with low-end digital editing workstations. They've been a nightmare ever since. 4 of the 5 speaker systems have had to be RMA'd to Klipsch and replaced.
Summary: I paid $99 for this system, and it was still too much. It's a handsome system with good bass and generally good sound reproduction. The system, however, has a terrible HISS. All systems produce background noise, but with the GMX, it's more hiss than not.
Summary: I don't personally have these but when purchasing my speakers, I listened to many different models before deciding on the Logitech Z-680s. I saw the price tag on these and thought they must be good. So I turned them on, and what do I hear? sound no better than from a $20 boombox.
