can't rotate the ipad-so useless for visuals and TV

Summary: see above...But more importantly Amazon should pay full UK taxes. It benefits from operating in the UK, yet puts virtually zero back-not good enough Amazon! Contribute to our society and welfare system! Apart from anything else it means that they compete unfairly with great British companies like John Lewis, who pay full UK taxes. Come on Amazon-cough up!
Summary: I've tried this side by side with my other dock which cost twice as much and then some. The Jbl beat it in every dept. sounds better, much easier to access IPhone menus with user friendly and sturdy holding position ( won't wreck your iPhone input like other units) and it also looks better. Only downside is that iPad cannot be mounted in landscape. Nice bit of kit for the money though.
Summary: I was looking forward to this loudspeaker device and I'm happy with it even if I cannot use it as originally intended. I use my iPad as a small tv in the kitchen and figured this would be much better than my current cover that allows perfect viewing but does not help add any volume to my iPad if I move across the room. Unfortunately, this JBL loudspeaker does not help me with this wish but it does have other great uses.
Outstanding sound, a very nice piece of technology!

Summary: Having recently purchsed an i-pad 2, I needed a great quality speaker dock to enable it (and my i-phone) to be fully enjoyed. A great deal of research later, and the JBL On Beat Speaker Dock came on the radar. Comparing its output in the shops with the competitor products was a revelation. A rich and deep quality of sound, coping brilliantly with dance, rock, pop, classical, whatever you throw at it.
Summary: I'm a long time fan of the JBL iPhone/iPod docking speakers, own most of them. As soon as the JBL OnBeat model came out I rushed out and got one. Sound: Mediocre, dull and lacking bass. Equipment: The clip-on arms that come with the unit to help secure the iPhone and the iPad in place broke in my hands when I was switching them over. Too fragile!! Warranty does not cover these parts I was told.
