Summary: I bought a pair of these from Harman Audio a few weeks ago, thinking they would be an improvement over my old Altec Lansing ACS22 speakers, which were having on-off switch problems. Frankly other than looking great, the JBLs are only average and do not impress me in sound quality or volume. The old speakers had dual 3-inch drivers and sounded "big" and "rich" and produced at least dounble the volume of the JBLs.
Summary: I bought these to use with a record player, and couldn't be happier. They look great up on a bookcase shelf; blend in well and have a nice tapered look. And the sound it as good as I could have hoped...makes my LPs sounds as good as I could imagine they ever could.
Good overall experience, fast service and good product.

Summary: Good sound and range..Im happy...... The price is affordable for a good experience with computer accessable video's ect. I am by no means an expert on sound but for this ol boy, everything seems to be very clear and the sound is good, especially attracting is the price, good all around speakers..
Summary: Please be mindful that output is (only) 6 watt and the lowest frequency response is 80Hz. Compared to cheap & non-premium-brand 2.1 system s(with subwoofer), this product generates weak sound. I understand it is by design. I know I am giving up something for the ability to carry around the speakers. For this price, hmm, I'm not sure if I can really recommend.
Summary: The internal speakers of an iMac do a better job of simulating the low end of the sound range than these piddly speakers do. For what they put out the quality is all right, but the performance is utterly disappointing compared to the previous generation Duets. With these you really feel the need for a subwoofer--that wasn't the case before, and I was under the impression that this was the Duet's primary function: to save you from needing one.
Summary: 5 / 10 The speakers sound just about ok. The base sounds better when you are facing them from the side. Overall sound is even on the ear. at medium level they are not "screechy" They do start to distort when you crank them. 10 / 10 They look great. That is their only saving grace. 2 / 10 They are poorly made. The base of the speakers should be heavier so that they can't be knocked over. The cabling stinks too. It is unnecessarily complicated.
Summary: I'm testing these speakers against a variety of others to find a decent pair of desktop speakers to listen to while I work out of the home office. In this environment, I mostly listen to jazz, blues and classical, some vocalists like Bonnie Raitt. Right now I'm listening to the Wynton Marsalis station I created on Pandora (one of my favorites) and these Duet II's sound great. My wife commented about too much bass from these speakers.
