Useless without correct AC adaptor

Charl the powerless, B&H Photo
3 July 2014
  • Excerpt: Headline says it all, if you live in the middle of nowhere and don't have access to an electronics store to convert the power supply to fit your plugs then this i quite a nifty paperweight. Gave it 2 stars as it really keeps the paper lying dead still. Sarcasm aside, will change review once I get it running, as it can apparently charge through the USB but it takes much longer. The specialized 14.75V, 2.44A power supply also rendered my existing adjustable plugs useless.
  • Cons: Poor Design

  • Summary: the sound is fine only if you have the volume on very low. Not what I expected Lots of static type sound when I try to have the volume up

Not for everyone

Vexxy, Amazon
3 April 2014
  • Summary: Been in the bluetooth speaker market for a while. Kept some, returned some. The sound quality is good, but not powerful as the product description states, or maybe it's just my unit. I also have the Big Jambox, and would have been happy with the regular Jambox even if it got a third of the sound. The intent was to use as speakerphone and listen to music in my car. It would be great If I can hear the music while driving, but it is barely audible.

Loved Speaker until blown just over 1 year

Chizzma, CNET
27 March 2014
  • Summary: I don't listen to it often, and typically play it at mid volume. The speaker blew and sounds pretty bad now. I am very disappointed considering I went and purchased another one for my mother. Now, I'm concerned her's will go out too. Jambox isn't my main source for music, but was convenient to carry around.
  • Pros: The portability, sound, and ease of connectivity were appreciated
  • Cons: Speaker blew after a little more than a year

Battery is NOT REPLACEABLE, even by the Manufacturer

Dennis T. Dease, Amazon
4 March 2013
  • Summary: I purchased my regular and big Jambox without understanding that the battery was not replaceable (even by the manufacturer). I realize that its ultimately up to me to research these things that matter before I buy, but I incorrectly assumed that a product of this quality would not omit such an important feature. Now when others see, hear and are impressed by my Jambox's looks and performance, I caution them that it has this serious shortcoming.

Not good

suzanne f., Newegg
14 February 2013
  • Summary: I'd pay about $60 for this, not $130.
  • Pros: It works correctly.
  • Cons: This product is shockingly bad. I bought it to replace my $40 HMDX Jam thinking it would be a substantial upgrade. It wasn't. The sound quality and volume are just too poor to justify the price tag

Good speaker, poor manufacturing.

viobane, Amazon
3 January 2013
  • Summary: I can't in good conscious give this a one star. If it had lasted more than a week, I would have loved it. The speaker provides great sound, has good range via bluetooth, is easy to set up, and is aesthetically pleasing. However, it only lasted a week. I had placed it on a shelf, and was playing music and it fell off the shelf (cat induced).
