great sound and looks, don't last long

Summary: It is simple: They sound great if you like clear sound and not an overload of bass. Most audiophiles would like them. If you like more boombox style bass then you need something else. They look great and the satelites do not take up much space, I put a premium on that. The controls are a disaster.
Not as great as they're hyped up to be, especially for $100

Summary: I was really excited about these speakers, mostly due to the rave reviews. However, now that I have them on my desk I am certainly underwhelmed. The comments about lack of midrange are right on. The bass is nice, treble is nice, but it's very thin through the midrange.
Summary: I have two sets of soundsticks and have found that the volumn cannot be turned up loud enough on one set. The other set works and sounds fine. I've had both about 3 years and now the one set that has been working great is now full of static on the sub and one of the two desk top speakers.
Summary: To begin, I mean in no way for this review to be negative, simply take it for face value and understand that there are many other satisfied people. I am somewhat of an audiophile and have invested good sums of money in quality musical and audio equiptment.
Summary: The Soundsticks look nice and complement my new Mac Mini well. But they don't look quite as nice as the well-lit picture. The beads in the satellites aren't sky-blue like in the picture either. Mine are more of a dark-purple, which aren't as attractive. Sound-wise, the satellites sound good.
Low level hiss/rumble spoils low level music listening

Summary: I so much want to give 5 stars for this review because at higher volume levels the music sounds stunning. However there is a problem and it suggests that once again quality has been compromised by saving a just few pence on critical components. (Ford Motor company - are you listening??
Temporary mid-priced option while you save up for a Bose alternative

Excerpt: THE BASICS Comprise a three piece speaker system (one subwoofer and two satellite 'soundsticks') specifically designed for use with Macs and iPods, though suitable for use via a mini stereo jack connection with any PC or audio system. It retails at around £99.99.
Summary: Ok. I've just purchased a new PC with a top of the range Creative labs sound card, the next order of business was a good pair of PC speakers. Having read the rave reviews on this site & others, I decided to go for the Soundsticks II.
