Sound great and look cool for about 6 months. Then they just look cool
21 June 2014
Summary: My 1st pair looked cool, sounded great, and quit working inexplicably after 2 years. My 2nd pair quit working after 6 months. There is NO quality or durability here. Advise that you spend your money elsewhere.
Summary: I had it for about 2 weeks before it just stopped working. They look great and sound amazing, but there is no turn off button and if you move it, be prepared for it to suddenly die and there is nothing you can do about it unless you know how to open it up and sodder electronics. Look up forums on this...google "Harman Kardon Soundsticks suddenly stop working"... Luckily Amazon has an AMAZING return policy which is why I use them almost exclusively for the last 10 yrs.
Summary: The speakers looked nice and sounded great for what they are but my sets left speaker stopped working after 6 months. The cable that is hard wired to the subwoofer is defective so off to the shop they go. Harmon support is terrible. I had to send them a fax with the receipt and was told they would ship me a new set without having to return item. Waited another 2 weeks and received email telling me to describe the problem and send sketch of what cable is bad.
Summary: I found the HK Soundsticks III to be an average set of 2.1 speaker systems. The treble is non-existent and the bass is average. Besides, the speakers aren't loud enough if you like your music to thump. I would recommend Klipsch or Edifier over these.
