You get what you pay for.

Nathaniel C., Newegg

  • Summary: If I wanted awesome sound, I would pay an awesome price. Still worth it, imo.
  • Pros: $12.99. Small. Non-imaginary.
  • Cons: Crackles at high volume. Volume is painfully low, forcing you to turn up the volume. See first con. Cables are short, not that it really matters.

Turned down is louder then being turned up??

Anonymous, Newegg
22 June 2009
  • Summary: For the price, I would buy for a computer that isn't used for a lot of movies and music, just regular sound stuff. It has a power cord to the speakers, instead of running USB. Not a huge thing, but makes a little difference. MOBO has 8 USB's, don't have that many power connectors laying around the speakers.
  • Pros: Nice looking speakers; has a head phone jack in the front of the one. Has a power button so you don't have to use the OS or speaker volume to mute it.
  • Cons: When the volume is turned all the way down, a lot of static comes out. Then IDK if this is the speakers fault or not, but if I had been playing music, being turned down all the way plays the music I was playing in the static. Even if I closed the music player. If I hook up my monitor as the speaker it doesn't do that. So it's really weird!! but I just power it off if I have to. No balance controls, just volume. Seems like one is louder then the other, so a balance con...

Cheap but does the job

  • Pros: Cheap speakers
  • Cons: Cell phone interference sucks. Put your iPhones into airplane mode if you come within 5 feet of these.

You get what you pay for

Caroline H., Newegg

  • Pros: The price is great. There is little chance the less than 9 dollars that I paid delivered could be beat. Decent sound as well for the small foot print. I use the speakers at work when watching those videos that everyone emails.
  • Cons: The shielding needs to be improved. When I get a phone call or I set my phone on my desk I have to turn off the speakers. This is not an issue, because the power button is very accessible, but I would like to not worry about this every time I sit at my desk.

Can't complain for the price

Anonymous, Newegg
14 November 2008
  • Summary: Product is actually 1W with some research. Not strong enough for most lap tops.
  • Pros: Cheap. Works well with PC's. Hardly and almost never distorts on most PC Audio. Woks perfect with my portable DVD player :)...
  • Cons: Frequency interference with wifi and Cell Phone reception. I can actually hear a text message coming in through these speakers lol :).

  • Pros: It is not shielded from cell phone usage. They work OK but you get what you pay for. This is the reason for the 3 out of 5.
  • Cons: not shielded

Cheap and compact speakers

Rommel R., Newegg
30 January 2008
  • Summary: I wouldn't recommend it for desktop computers but good enough for notebooks and other electronic devices.
  • Pros: Cheap! Sound quality is average. I bought it for my portable dvd player and it works! Small and compact speakers.
  • Cons: None.
