Summary: I'm not an audiophile, but I should have just spent the extra 40 or 50 dollars and bought decent speakers. I wasted my money. Before you buy, make sure you take note of just how physically small each piece is.
Pros: Low low price, Decent volume
Cons: The satellite speakers produce a flat, tinny sound that's no better than the cruddy little 2 inch speakers that used to come free with pc's back in the 90's. It reminds me of listening to my grandparents cheap old black and white tv. The subwoofer is barely audible, except at very high volume.
Summary: I purchased a new HP computer and Hanns-G monitor and I wanted a good amplified audio system to go along with them. I spent the EXTRA money for this Gear Head 'PRO-SPEAKER' product, because I've used Gear Head in the past and liked their products. Well, this audio system is terrible. The two satellites are lightweight 'squeakers'. They are as 'tinny' as two soup cans strung with string.
Summary: I got this for $20 on sale. I could've went to Goodwill and gotten some for $5 and they would've sounded better! There is NO strength at all from the woofer, all you hear are the two tweeters... and it doesn't sound good! Bottom line: spring for some better speakers than this!
Summary: Looks superior, best $ value on the market, sounds OK. Trebel is a bit over balanced and distorted at high volumes Bass is weak under-balanced at all volumes. Don't even look for or consider anything better for newbies to upgrade the squeakers that come with complete 'mall-mart' systems.
