Summary: usb speakers...small and compact and sounds pretty good. They are a little too light weight for my taste and at higher volume levels they vibrate and appear to be "farting" but it is these things literally vibrating on the desk, so I placed a little piece of 3M double sided sticky tape on the little rubberless feet. For the price, these are darn decent office, or portable speakers.
Summary: Size...excellent. Ease of installation.....excellent. Price / value...........excellent. Design aesthetic.....excellent. Sound....pretty damn good considering all of the above....I give it a 9 on a scale of 1 to 10.
Summary: For the size, the weight and portability these speakers are great. A USB port is used to power the 3 watt amp and it does the job. There is no distortion nest to by laptop. I like the large flush volume adjustment in the back of one the speakers. Great overall design.
Summary: I purchased these from a chain computer supply store for $6.99 and feel that they were well worth the price. I was looking for a simple external speaker (mono or stereo) to verify that I'm recording sound when I do video capture and conversion. My main concern was that the speaker(s) be USB powered and small enough to sit on top of a tower enclosure. These Gear Heads do the job.
Summary: I bought for my office because I have very limited space and full-size regular-powered speakers just won't fit. I'm completely disappointed because from the moment I turn my computer on I hear static. It gets particularly bad when I use my mouse. I don't really have the time to research why this is happening and the only way I can tolerate them is to play low-volume music constantly, which really isn't a hardship.
Summary: they work just fine for me, yes it's true that high levels of sound it does get hard to hear but that doesn't deterr me from actually having a good pair of speakers that actually lets me hear music or the sound of my games
Summary: The have a moderate distorted/static like sound quality as if the music is being transmitted wirelessly and you are getting interference. Volume and bass wise they are much better than the built-in speakers of the laptop. But unless all you care about is volume, these are a waste of money.
