8 July 2014
Summary: I was in love with this product when it first arrived (October 2013). It has made it tailgating, camping, bbq's and everywhere in between, but what caused me to jump on here and write a review was the 4th of July rafting trip. Within minutes of setting off into the raging waters one of our party had flipped and the rescue mission was on- My Rugged Rukus was full submerged into white water for the better part of 5 minutes attached to the outside of my drybag.
great sound quality and volume and amazing longevity

Summary: This thing worked out great for me. Had a full day and night beach thing for the 4th of July and it lasted with more than half the battery by 11pm. It was plenty loud for us and others within 30ft of us to enjoy the music on the beach. Only 2 draw backs, I have the note 3 which doesn't fit in the front compartment and for my friends iphone 4s the charging isn't compatible with the usb it seems.
Summary: After doing a lot of searching, this is the one. Bluetooth for all current devices and even a headphone type input on the underside for older ipods or any other audio device. I really like the pouch on the underside for the phone/ipod, as that ensures the phone is not in sun light. Very cool that it auto charges via solar too. Goes fairly loud and seems to hold up to outdoor life. I would buy again for sure.
Summary: I gave this speaker 5/5 stars, because it performs just as I had expected. I use it for kayaking so it does get wet every time I have used it and it is still working. The sound output is clear and loud enough to be heard from 30ft which is all I needed it for. The solar panel is great. I used it the first day I got it and charged it via solar power for 1 hr before use and stayed charged for the 5 hrs I was kayaking. It has a good weight to it and feels well built.
Summary: I've had the Rukus about a month and use it outdoors by the pool and on the deck. I run pandora off my iphone primarily. Solar works well. Finally, no need to run an extension cord to get music outside. Kids use it occasionally for dance parties in the basement. Very portable. Feels rugged enough. Haven't had any issues.
Pros: Solar works Bluetooth works No need for extension cords
