Summary: Great sound for the price. Sound is much clearer and more precise than the Logitech speakers. I'm a big audiophile, use to having Bose sound systems and I must say I'm pretty impressed for under $40 bucks. Pros: Crisp high and mids. Easy setup. Cons: Bass could be better, wires are short. Wish the bass was controlled separate.
Summary: Just received these speakers from Amazon, and I have to say this is the best $35.00 I have spent in a long time. The tone is sharp and punchy. My last speaker system was Altec Lansing and while they have more expensive traits(separate bass and treble controls) they honestly didn't sound better for three times the money. If you read a negative review of the Edifier speaker system I would advise you to ignore it. Some people bitch about anything.
Summary: PROS. Sound quality is good, bass is "adequately" deep, product looks nice on my desk, comes with a stylish wired volume control remote. CONS. Has no hardware buttons/dials/controls to tweak level of bass, treble, or balance. You only have Volume control. I find this annoying since those hardware controls are important for perfect personalized sound calibration.
Summary: Good basic setup. Doesn't have much bass to it and knowing it doesn't have any adjustment when I ordered it, it will be ok. Not using it for high sound quality anyway. Easy setup and doesn't take up a lot of room. Have to be careful with the bottom of the subwoofer because of the speaker isn't protected. Have to wait and see about the durability. Had an outstanding Boston Accostics setup that finally went out after 12 years.
Summary: Clear sound, bass is just a hair lower than I would prefer, but it's not bad. I wish some of the other cables were disconnectable - the first unit I received had a loose contact behind the cover on the sub. I think a normal headphone cable would have prevented that issue.
Summary: I was looking for speakers to monitor some hobby composition and generally listen to tunes at a reasonable volume for 1. These fit the bill. I'm very happy with the subwoofer, though the satellites are a bit lacking. They distort rapidly when venturing into high volume (higher than my normal use). I would like a bass knob, but I was able to get them bumping nice in iTunes using the equalizer (command-option 2 on Mac; I like the Classical setting, even for hip-hop).
