Summary: These speakers look totally awesome (5 stars), but had only decent sound which was a little muddy (3 stars) but quit after only 3-4 months of use (1 star). I recommend that you do not buy this product. That said, they are exactly what I was looking for, and will remain in place on my TV stand as cool looking decorative objects. The ability to switch between Bluetooth and the TV input (via optical jack) was the main reason I bought these, and it worked great.
Summary: Love the sound quality of this system and believe me I mean great sound quality. These speakers are certainly loud enough to fill a good sized room in a house but not likely loud enough to annoy the neighbors too much. Via optical there is no hiss, just clean sound that is ready to go within a quarter of a second of when the sound starts.
Pros: -great sound quality via optical and good Aux sound as well, -nice balance of bass in an all in one system, -control pod is rechargeable means no battery to replace, -control pod's rubber base sticks nicely to glass surfaces, -very detailed sound all around, detailed lows, mids and highs, -rather good volume levels; loud enough to impress my friends, -unique look, -easily recognized by Bluetooth devices, -can connect a separate subwoofer for louder bass, -includes a w...
Cons: -WAY TOO EASY to be recognized by Bluetooth devices that could be near by and no pass code needed, -sound (built in woofer) distorts at max volume levels, -control pod requires recharging for Bluetooth and remote control use. There are no buttons on speakers to control anything, -Overly aggressive power savings mode built into speakers can cause popping sound and loss of sound stage when using low volume levels
Summary: Great speakers, great sound quality (volume, depth, clarity). I am somewhat disappointed that Edifier did all the hard work, but stopped at the low-hanging fruit. The speakers have to stand on their base (i.e., they cannot be mounted on a wall or upside-down from a ceiling). Also, the two "horns" are connected by a wire, which means their distance from each other is limited to the length of their connecting wire, and for a wireless system, being constrained by wires is...
Very nice sound and I am very happy with my purchase!

Summary: I purchased the speakers a couple of months ago and now I can enjoy music, videos, etc. again. I own a high end audio/video system (9k worth of components and speakers)and miss being able to listen to music without taking over a complete room. In the past I would use headphones and recently I have grown tired of having to listen my music through these headphones while having the audio quality I enjoy with my AV system.
Summary: These speakers died on my after 3 months of mild use. They just started emitting a popping sound and no longer function, I'll update this review based on my experience with Edifier customer service. EDIT: I contacted edifier's US warranty service and they immediately sent out a new set of speakers citing that this model had a known defect.
Summary: I was looking for a great speaker system to replace an Altec Lansing system I've had for 10 years. Let me tell you, the old Altec Lansing system with subwoofer sounds better than these Spinnakers. I was looking to get rid of the huge subwoofer and go with an all inclusive system. The Edifiers are more for looks and art than actual sound. The bass is extremely muddy, there is lack of mid range, and the sounds quality diminishes with increased volume.
Summary: The bottom line: A terrific pair of beautifully-designed Bluetooth speakers that suffered disastrous failures in early shipments. My second pair works fine. The longer story: I was looking for something stylish to go with modern furnishings in a living room, and I found nothing as striking as the Spinnakers, which turn boring black soundboxes into architectural sculptures. They were easy to set up and worked perfectly - for a couple of months.
