Summary: I bought the Edifier e10 to replace a pair of aging Bose Companion 2 speakers. The the low frequencies that the e10 reproduces are clean and tight, unlike the Bose which can sound muddy and over exaggerated. Stereo separation is good, and the mids and highs are crisp and clear. Note that these speakers are meant to provide accurate sound for roughly the area of a computer desk, and not for rocking the entire house.
Summary: These are phenomenal speakers for the size (they are quite a bit smaller than I expected, even after reading the dimensions) and price. I bought these as a gift for someone who was travelling overseas. Her laptop was going to become her entertainment center. I told her she needed speakers. She said the laptop speakers would be fine. I got these because I am always right. I'm kind of a big deal.
Summary: I have this plugged into a standard audio connector on my computer. I'm pretty sure that it's something about my rats nest of cabling, but there's a slight hum that kicks in when nothing is playing. (Clearly, I need to keep the music going!). Sound quality is fantastic, and they sound far richer than my previous speakers (which had a subwoofer!) did.
Summary: I ordered these through Amazon, and they arrived broken. There was bass coming from both speakers, but no midrange or highs. I'm an electrical engineer and I verified everything was connected right. I called the manufacturer directly and arranged a replacement set. The ordeal was relatively painless, expect for the delay and having to crawl under the desk two extra times to connect and disconnect them. The second set worked perfectly.
Summary: I've had these speakers for half a year and they appear to have held up well. They produce good sound, although they are somewhat limited in volume and bass. Still, they're good for pairing with a computer to watch movies or listen to music in an otherwise quiet room. The volume interface isn't great - it'd be nice to have a knob instead of buttons (or at least have an indicator of what the current volume setting is).
Summary: Bought these based on recommendations here and in magazine reviews. Good sound, how good I can't say I'm not an audiophile , but Bach Organ, Beethoven's Ninth, and Bluegrass through them sound good to me. Cons: they do take up a fair amount of space and I had to reorganize everything on my small computer desk in order to find space for them. To me the worst problem with them is that they do not turn off automatically when the computer shuts off.
Summary: These speakers are perfect for my music taste, I prefer listening to more laid back folk type music that the emphasis on vocal and acoustical music at my computer desk. They produce mid range and highs really well for the price. I would have gave it five stars if it wasn't for the very short speaker cord connecting the speakers. If you have to route the speaker wires down and around for whatever reason you may come up short.
Summary: This speaker system is great for the price and size. Sound is great and has pretty decent bass with the mini sub woofers. If your looking for good inexpensive small size speakers without a giant sub woofer by your feet then look no further. My only complaint comes from the volume control not holding the previous volume once you power them down, but default level is fine.
