Summary: I bought this item really only because the Inspiron Duo only has three ports built into it (one 3.5mm headphone jack and two USB ports). You need the port replicator featured in this dock to do things like connect to the internet via an Ethernet chord or use an SD card. In addition to these features, though, it also charges the thing and plays music. The sound quality is actually pretty great - something that I would expect out of a JBL product.
Summary: This is a great product. I have 2 of them. It allows me to take my Duo from the office to the home and be used in a workstation. Once docked, it charges and functions like a monitor. It has 2 USB ports in the back (though I wish there were more but that's an easy fix with an adapter), audio jack (that is not needed as the speakers are very loud), and ethernet connection (which I do not use either as I use wifi).
Summary: Considering I paid $99 for the one I bought with the laptop I was thrilled with the price. The fact that it works and this inexpensive made my day since the original I bought died. I hope this one lasts longer.
Summary: I always wondered what that connector on the back of my Duo was for - never read the instructions, of course. The unit is very solid and offers plenty of connectivity options. I haven't used the media card slot so can't comment on that just yet. The sound is good (made by JBL) and the viewing angle is perfect. Mine arrived with what sounds like a very small piece of plastic or metal rolling around inside but I'm too lazy to exchange it.
