Summary: I wanted this so I could get sound from my monitor which I currently use as a HD tv for playing Xbox 360 on. With the soundbar this monitor now imitates a TV perfectly (minus cable and the remote). I accidentally ordered a used model for $15 but overall I am very satisfied. My main concern was if it would fit my monitor. I am not entirely sure but I think Dell only made one kind of hooks so all Dell sound bars should hang and fit.
Summary: Dell recommended this, but they wanted $39. Paid about half that through Amazon. Item is working great with our new Dell computer and a flat panel Dell monitor that we already had on hand. Thanks.
A basic but worthy value upgrade for your Dell Monitor...

Summary: I bought this as a supplementary way to get sound from my Mac + Dell without spending a lot of money, knowing that I get much better sound though a decent set of studio headphones or via the Digital Out connected to home theater speakers. This is a very basic low-powered speaker system for your Dell monitor, and appropriately priced. As long as you don't expect Hi-Fi sound quality you won't be disappointed.
Summary: We wanted to replace the speaker bar on our Dell computer with original equipment but were unwilling to pay the Dell asking price. It hooks neatly to the flat screen monitor without requiring any more spaced on our crowded desk and gives decent sound for the price. My hearing is poor enough that I would not appreciate more elaborate sound systems.
Summary: I bought this speaker to use on a shelf under my desk. I wanted it out of the way and unseen. It worked out well for that. It sounds good and reduces clutter. I am not using it as intended by the manufacturer "mounted to the monitor".
