Summary: (You can view my set-up on the picture section) Yea, I'm over 55 years old, but don't look for no walker in my home or a Prius in my driveway. I grew up in an era where there were only two types of Rock Music- 1.) Hard 2.) Loud And you can hear them both at the same time when I pass by your house in my Hemi Challenger. So this is not my first rodeo when it comes to stereo equipment. I bought this system primarily for Home Theater.
Crackling/popping subwoofer issue after 4 months here too :(

Summary: Like others, unfortunately our speakers fell victim to the crackling/popping subwoofer issue after about four months. I figured out that I could get the speakers to stop crackling and popping for about two weeks at a time by unplugging the cables from the back of the subwoofer, and unplugging power for about 60 seconds, then plugging everything back in. This seemed to 'reset' the speakers, but the issue always came back.
Great sound and awesome customer service from the company.

Summary: I got these speakers for my husband as a present for Christmas. Shortly after hooking them up, we noticed a crackling sound coming out of the speakers. It was past the return period for Amazon so I contacted the company directly describing the problem. I heard back within two days and they sent out a new control pod immediately. Solved part of the problem. Now he could hear without crackling through ear buds, but not at all through the speakers.
Summary: I don't usually write product reviews - but I absolutely had to for this set of speakers. At first, they were great. Great sound, good bass, etc. But, after having used them for a month, the began to develop a distinct crackling/static-like sound. Initially it wasn't that bad, but after a few more months the static has grown louder and louder and more frequent.
Lots of noise from the volume controller after six months

Summary: I enjoyed my speakers for about six months, then they started emitting noise at random times. It appears to be caused by the controller. I just ordered a $15 replacement unit, which is a hassle. The volume control uses a super cheap mechanical potentiometer to do the job. Electronic parts cleaner didn't help. Let's hope the replacement part is better. Great sound for the money initially, but I expect much more.
