Summary: I've had these speakers for 10 years, and they've quite reliable. The only faulty part I've encounter is the power cable, which got a bit loose after 8+ years. Nothing big though. It's not powerful, but it's good enough to fill a room with sound. The bass is a bit weak, but it's about as powerful as any $200-300 portable bluetooth speaker (as of 2014). I realize that's not a fair comparison since the SBS 380 isn't portable, but it gives you an idea of the sound quality.
Summary: I got these speakers years ago in some back aisle clearance section of a department store. I've had several Creative products before and couldn't pass up this set for $20. They've traveled back and forth between home and university and never gave me trouble. Now, obviously you can't expect much out of cheap speakers, but I've definitely got my money's worth.
Summary: I bought these speakers to replace a pair of gateway USB speakers that came with my gm5442 witch was a mistake to buy I just replace it with a custom build and I have a DG43Gt motherboard and plugged these speakers in and it sounded great and the motherboard sound is better than my creative 24 bit live sound card that I bought the only thing is that the speakers have no bass control but still sounds good and yes for those giving it bad reviews you are wrong sure there...
Summary: Creative SBS 380 2.1 Speakers I needed some speakers with a headphone jack and subwoofer for a newly re-built PC. The new motherboard didn't support the old Boston Acoustics digital speakers I was using with the original motherboard. These analog speakers do the job without breaking the bank. Not the highest fidelity in the world, but for my purposes they are perfect.
Summary: I think these speakers sound great for the price. It has very good bass responce, with clean highs. Remember the price, they sound great for that and would recomend these speakers for anyone who is looking for a set of computer speakers for this price range.
Summary: For the price these speakers sound great the bass isnt the best in the world because there is no master bass control. The actual speakers sound really good though and im impressed and i would recommend these to people.
Summary: I wouldve given a 5, but for no base controller. Sound is awesome, very clear and cut, base is also awesome, but no controller. You will have to use some software to control it, but that doesnt help too much.
Summary: These speakers were really just a whim, plus I needed to add a few bucks for free shipping with another item from Amazon - in Hawaii we love Amazon's free shipping! They had to fit in my desk cubbyholes. The originals I was using were really tinny, but as I only use sound for internet stuff and occasional CD music I don't care much. If I want to seriously listen to music or see a film I have a decent home theater system.
Summary: delivered 4/12/2007, have a fairly good sound BUT. There appears to be a short or mis-connection to the right speaker unit. the wire does not plug in solidly and has no sound coming from the right speaker. There appears to be a positional problem with the power. You have to "move or wiggle" the cord for it to make electrical connection. The speakers were inexpensive but not worth the problems. I think there is a design or production flaw. Save your time don't order.
Summary: I would recommend these to anyone looking for some cheap PC speakers. The Bass on my set sounds perfectly matched to the volume, which can mean that any complaints are caused by flukes in the manufacturing of the speakers. If you are afraid of getting a defective set, buy them from walmart so you can easily return them. In fact, they were cheaper at walmart than online in my case.
